Syria is ready for war with Israel

"Syria grows stronger everyday and is ready for war with Israel - who is a bitter enemy and who refuses to withdraw from the Golan Heights", the comments of Syrian President Bashar Assad to an Arabic newspaper in the Middle East.

Assad said that he does not know whether war will take place, but Syria does not disregard this possibility which is the same threat given by the Syrian information minister who said, "If Israel rejects the Arab League peace proposal, resistance will be the only way to liberate the Golan Heights". Israeli PM Ehud Olmert said that Israel had no intention of starting the war, but is indeed talking about defending itself if Syria decides to attack the Jewish state.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

The threat from Syrian President Bashar Assad that his country is ready for a war with Israel is a page out of Bible prophecy for the End Times.

Since the Hezbollah-Israeli war this last summer, the Syrians have been preparing for a confrontation with Israel both through radical political rhetoric and ratcheting up its military preparedness. Israeli intelligence reports indicate that Syria has increased its armament and intensified its training program with the Syrian ground troops to a Hezbollah-type fighting machine. Now the leaders of both countries, Israel and Syria, are talking about a possible armed conflict between the two nations. This scenario is in reality a page out of Bible prophecy for the Last Days with the two players mentioned in the prophetic scriptures on alert for the other to attack.

The ancient Jewish prophet Daniel wrote some 2,500 years ago that Syria, referred to as the king of the North in Daniel 11:40-43, will be the first Arab or Muslim nation to attack the Jewish state. As Syria leads the way, many other Middle Eastern nations will align themselves with Syria and come against Israel.

Syrian President Bashar Assad's statement that Syria is ready for war with Israel is the setting of the stage for the final drama in our world today.
