Iraq may have twice as much oil as has been thought

The potential presence of an additional 100 billion barrels in the Western desert in Iraq would make this Middle East nation one of the world's biggest oil suppliers and mean that Iraq holds twice as much oil in its reserves as has been thought.

If this is true, as the most comprehensive independent study of Iraq's resources seems to indicate, it would raise Iraq from the world's third largest source of oil to a position second only to Saudi Arabia and overtaking Iran. The development of Iraq's oil fields depends on an improvement in the security environment, which at the time remains very difficult, and with only one-third of Iraq's oil fields currently producing.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

One of the world's largest sources of oil located in Iraq is setting the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.

Critics of the Bush policy on the war in Iraq have said that the President is more concerned about flow of oil out of Iraq than he has been about the lives of the men and women that have been killed in Iraq. The Bush White House was concerned and is still concerned about the catastrophic events that could develop if the flow of oil to the West was stopped. Alert! Economic planners, watch the oil industry to stay abreast of the economic system of our world today. Even slight changes in number of barrels of oil that pass into the West everyday could change our world dramatically in the short run and in the long run as well. US planners see the Iraqi oil fields as the source for the rise in prominence and power of Iraq in the Middle East and maybe all around the world.

One thing is for sure, according to Bible prophecy, Iraq one day soon will become the political, governmental, economic capital of the world according to Revelation 18. John, who wrote the book of Revelation 2,000 years ago, revealed that Babylon, Revelation 18, would be a literal city in the Last Days and the headquarters for this one-world system with the Antichrist, the false messiah setup to rule this present-known world. Babylon, in Revelation 18, also found in Isaiah 13-14, and Jeremiah 50-51, is modern-day Iraq.

Iraq's massive oil supply, most of it untouched, will be used to set the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.
