A recent poll taken among Israelis showed that 63% of Israelis are willing to make concessions on the borders of Jerusalem in exchange for 'real peace' with the Palestinians; however, 54% of those who are willing to make these concessions are not will to give up the Western Wall or the Jewish Quarter in the old city.
Even though a majority of Israeli Jews are ready to make concessions on Jerusalem, 75% of those polled admitted they do not believe that 'real peace' with the Palestinians is a possibility.
Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News
Israelis willing to make concessions on the borders of Jerusalem in order to be able to get peace is an indication that Bible prophecy, related to the Jews and Jerusalem, is nearing the time of fulfillment of these ancient prophecies. There has been a fundamental change in the general opinion with regard to Jerusalem since the 2003 election when there was a near consensus that the borders of Jerusalem were non-negotiable.
Even the politicians in Israel today are starting to mention plans that include the giveaway of portions of the city of Jerusalem, a city that was only reunited after 2,000 years at the end of the Six-Day War in 1967. Present-day concessions on Jerusalem will lead to the End Times scenario that is found in Bible prophecy.
Zechariah 12:2 says that those who have control of Jerusalem will be intoxicated with power. Zechariah 1:12-16 says that God is aggressively possessive of Jerusalem and will return to Jerusalem and build His Temple here. Isaiah 51:3, Joel 2:3, and Ezekiel 36:35 say that Jerusalem will be returned to the Garden of Eden. The Psalmist wrote that God has chosen Jerusalem as the place where He will rule and reign from and dwell among His people forever; that's Psalm 132:13, 14.
Israel making concessions on the borders of Jerusalem is indeed a step closer, in fact a giant step closer, to the fulfillment of Bible prophecy.
