The Israeli-Palestinian peace talks are doomed because of Yasser Arafat's legacy

The Israeli Vice Prime Minister Silvan Shalom says that the Israeli-Palestinian peace talks are doomed to hit a brick wall because no Palestinian leader will accept anything less that what Yasser Arafat rejected at Camp David some 10 years ago. Shalom also added that no Israeli prime minister will offer anything more than was offered at Camp David and the Israeli leader said for all intents and purposes the Palestinian Authority is already functioning like a de facto state.

The vice prime minister characterized the United States as Israel's only friend in the world who provides diplomatic, military and economic support but at the same time Shalom said any attempt by the United States or any other party to impose a peace agreement will not work because no one will accept it especially Israel.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

The statement by Israel's vice prime minister that the Israeli-Palestinian peace talks are doomed because of Yasser Arafat's legacy is right on target with the end of times scenario that can be found in Bible prophecy.

As the Obama Administration works diligently to get the Israeli-Palestinian talks back on track there seems to be a concern by many Israeli and Palestinian leaders that these talks will fail as has the others. Israel's Vice Prime Minister Silvan Shalom believes the legacy of the late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat will doom the peace talks to failure. This statement is based on the Israeli-Palestinian talks at Camp David ten years ago when then Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak offered the Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat all that he wanted only to have the Palestinian leader reject the agreement.

Bible prophecy in the biblical books of Ezekiel, Malachi, and Obadiah all refer in their prophecies to this Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Ezekiel 35 says that this conflict will cause deaths on both sides. Malachi in chapter 1 says that the Palestinians will return to rebuild and set their borders but God will reject their borders. Obadiah reveals that true peace will only come about between the Israelis and the Palestinians when the Messiah Jesus Christ returns. Remember Bible prophecy will be fulfilled.
