Jordan's King Abdullah says he is worried that Israel is plotting a conspiracy against the Palestinian people and the future of the state of Palestine in its offensive on Gaza, a process that is destroying the potential for peace in the Middle East. Abdullah, Jordan's monarch, whose country signed an unpopular peace treaty with Israel back in 1994, says that he fears that Israel was seeking to impose geo-political realities that would make it impossible to set up an independent Palestinian state, one aspect of the Middle East Peace Process, and that Israel wants to force new conditions that threaten Jordan's own sovereignty.
Almost 70% of Jordan's 6 million population are Palestinian and Jordan has over the years rejected Israel's suggestions that Jordan merge with the Palestinian population in Israel and that Jordan is truly the Palestinian state.
Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News
Jordan's King Abdullah is correct to be concerned about the Middle East Peace Process and the outcome of the Israeli-Hamas conflict. However, Bible prophecy will help the king and, in fact, the world to understand the final outcome of both the conflict and peace in the Middle East.
Jordan's King Abdullah is always alert to any event in the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict and rightly so - almost 70% of Jordan's population is Palestinian and King Abdullah is not - he is a Hashemite of the Hashemite Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. What happens in Israel with the Israeli-Palestinian will indeed affect what happens in Jordan. Abdullah's concerns about the outcome of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and even the peace process in the Middle East have been dealt with in the pages of Bible prophecy.
The ancient Jewish prophet of Obadiah reveals that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict will continue until the return of Jesus Christ back to the Earth when the Jews will be victorious over the Palestinians (Obadiah 16-18). In the issue of peace in the Middle East, one must turn to the prophecy of Daniel (Daniel 9:27). In this passage, we see that the coming world dictator, the Antichrist, will confirm a peace between the Jewish state and their enemies, today the Islamic and Muslim world (Daniel 9:27).
The fact that Jordan now has a peace treaty with Israel, a peace treaty not really working, does indeed set the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.
