Pope Francis is calling for exorcism on demon-possessed people

Listen to Today's Program Play

JD: Pope Francis back in the news again this week across the Internet. This time as he encouraged Priest to turn to exorcist when necessary.

DJ: Pope Francis urges priest to call out the exorcist. It turns out that in a discussion that Pope Francis had suggested to and encouraged local priest that if they run into what he called real spiritual disorders that are caused by supernatural forces and then presumably referring to the devil or demons that the priest whose hearing the confession must not hesitate to refer to exorcist.

Back in 2014 he recognized the international association of exorcist, which is an organization of 250 priests around the world who have been prepared to conduct exorcisms by the Vatican.

JD: Well, as always the bottom line question has to be what do we find in the New Testament letters to believers concerning dealing with demonic and satanic activity.

DJ: Well what we find in contrast to what is said about casting out demons and confronting the devil is that everything in the letters to the believers in the New Testament from Romans forward is to take a defensive stance. Ephesians 6 says put on the whole armor of God and this is to take a defensive stance. We’re not to take an aggressive stance.

In James where it says we are to submit to God resist the devil and he will flee from you. So, we are not to confront Satan directly and the way that we deal with demonic activity in the life of someone who is not a believer is to share the gospel with them. The Holy Spirit has the power to give them clarity of thought to hear, understand, and believe the gospel. We cannot be possessed by the Holy Spirit and possessed by a demon at the same time; that is the solution.

JD: David James explaining the Pope’s call for exorcism but also the Biblical directive for dealing with demon possessed people.

We report this information because it is setting the stage for Bible Prophecy to be fulfilled.

Demon possession even church people is a growing phenomenon. Many church leaders are calling for exorcists to be used to exercise the demons afflicting these people. The Bible has a different approach I’ll get to that in just a moment. But let me remind you that demonic activity will be prevalent during the last days. This activity is foretold in the book of Revelation chapters 12, 13, and 16.

Ephesians 6:10-18 exhorts all Christians to put on the whole armor of God to be able to stand against the devil in the last days. We have no authority to cast out demons but instead we must lead a demon-possessed person to Jesus Christ and then the Holy Spirit will take care of the demon.

Israel honors a Rabbi who almost blew up the Dome of the Rock

Listen to Today's Program Play

JD: Rabbi Shlomo Goren, he was on the Temple Mount at the time of the liberation back in 1967. He was up there that day that it all happened, was he not?

WM: He was, and in fact we have pictures of him inside the Dome of the Rock with a small scroll of the law the Torah. He actually thought that perhaps we could do some physical damage to the Dome of the Rock but the Generals persuaded him that that wasn’t a good idea. Perhaps, we lost an opportunity, who knows, we’ll have to wait and see.

He was very firm in taking measurements in later years and publishing a book on the subject on which he claimed that there was more than enough room for the Jews to walk around the Temple Mount of where the various sanctified portions are in which Jews should not go in. He was recognized as one of the leading figures in the liberation in Jerusalem and pointing direction to the Temple Mount as the ultimate aim of that war.

JD: I had opportunity to interview Rabbi Goren and also General Narcus and as I understand Goren was ready to blow up the Dome of the Rock and Narcus said you do that and I’ll arrest you buddy. But indeed you said it, maybe you missed a chance back 50 years ago but you are preparing for that Temple, and now, it’s in sight is it not?

MD: Yes, it’s becoming much more in the public discourse. People are talking about it, people are trying to argue about it. That’s ok with me because the more they talk about it the more we have a chance to convince and influence people that it’s not in heaven but its also on earth; something that could be accomplished and realized.

JD: Winkie Medad with the account of a Rabbi, Rabbi Shlomo Goren who endeavored to blow up the Dome of the Rock so they could begin the building of the Jewish Temple.

We report this information because it is setting the stage for Bible Prophecy to be fulfilled.

The account of Rabbi Shlomo Goren entering the Dome of the Rock with the purpose of destroying this Moslem edaphus gives evidence how dedicated some Jews are about building the next Temple. Rabbi Goren was a major player in preparations to rebuild the Jewish Temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.

It was 50 years ago when the Rabbi went up onto the Temple Mount the time in the Six-day war when the Israeli Defense Force took back the sacred piece of real estate. He went into the Dome of the Rock where the last 2 Jewish Temples have stood and where the next Temple will stand as well.

During these last 50 years all preparations have been made for the next Temple to be built which is what the Bible says will indeed happen. Daniel 9:27, Matthew 24:15, 2 Thessalonians 2:4, and Revelation 12:1 & 2. God’s prophetic word says there will be a Temple on the Temple Mount and in the near future.
