Secretary of State John Kerry spent three days of shuttle diplomacy in the Middle East and has come up short of restarting the peace process. David Dolan, longtime journalist in the Middle East, gave me his observations about US efforts to restart the peace talks.
Dave Dolan: Jimmy I do not want to sound cynical but we could insert about eight names in that question you just gave and they would all be true. Tony Blair, we could talk about a lot of diplomats not only from the US but from Europe. Many others have tried over the years and of course President Bill Clinton presided over the signing over the Oslo Peace Accords. Yasser Arafat and the late Yitzhak Rabin, both of them now passed from the scene. We had a wonderful signing ceremony a year later with Jordan and the peace with Egypt was very cold, the peace with the Palestinians fell apart and recently PA leader Mahmoud Abbas repeated that he will not sit down to talk with Israel unless Benjamin Netanyahu first agrees to delineating exactly where the final borders will be, unless Israel agrees to stop building new homes or other buildings in the disputed territories which of course he includes the Eastern half of Jerusalem in that description. These are conditions the Israelis have long made clear they are not going to meet before talks begin and they just want peace talks. I do not think John Kerry has found a way to overcome that. He has been trying and he has gotten the Palestinians to agree to a couple concession, nothing significant enough to make this process work.
Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News
US efforts to restart the peace talks between the Israelis and the Palestinians is actually a precursor to the fulfillment of Bible prophecy.
Many US presidents and numbers of world leaders have worked tirelessly for peace in the Middle East and all of their efforts have failed as of now. Bible prophecy tells us that one world leader will come on the scene and bring about peace between Israel and her neighbors. Daniel 9:27 says that the Antichrist, that world leader that I am talking about during the Tribulation Period, will actually be the one who will bring peace to the Middle East, howbeit it will be a pseudo peace. Daniel 9:27 says the Antichrist will confirm those peace agreements already on the table never normalized and not working at this point in time.
Ongoing efforts in the Middle East to bring about peace will indeed come about when Bible prophecy is fulfilled seemingly in the very near future.
