As the Jewish nation stops to remember their fallen soldiers, they remember a rabbi who said, the warriors who have fallen have sprouted forth life

The late Rabbi Shlomo Goren, the former chief rabbi of the Israeli Defense Force and the one who set the date to mark the fallen soldiers of Israel's wars, once said that Israel must view the warriors who have fallen in battle as those who sprouted forth life, the life of a nation growing out of this blood. Rabbi Goren said that Israel's Memorial Day which precedes Independence Day must be a day of mourning, a day to remember the fallen soldiers, a day to grieve - but it also must be a day of majesty and vision for the Jewish state.

Memorial Day, the day before Independence Day, the birthday of the Jewish state, is when the nation stops for 2 minutes of silence as a nationwide siren sounds to honor the over 22,000 Israeli men and women who have given their lives in all the wars of the modern-day state of Israel and to pray for peace in their region of the world.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

As we stop to reflect on the fallen warriors of the Jewish state of Israel in our day there must the be realization that Memorial Day in Israel is only a reminder of the Time of Jacob's Trouble yet to come - that is according to Bible prophecy. Since the War of Independence for the Jewish state of Israel in 1948, Israel has fought a number of wars and over 22,000 Jewish men and women have given their lives in defense of their homeland. Israel's history of warfare is a glimpse of God's protecting hand on a people that He has preserved for almost 4000 years. It is also evidence of what the Lord will do in the future.

Bible prophecy foretells of future wars more intense than the ones of the last 60 some years of war in the Middle East. A coalition of Arab and Moslem nations will attack the Jewish state according to Ezekiel 38, Daniel 11, and Psalm 83. Joel 2:3 says that the largest army ever formed on earth will come to destroy the Jewish state. Zechariah 14:2 says that in fact all armies of the world will one day surround Israel to destroy the Jewish state. However, one must remember that the Jewish Messiah, Jesus Christ, will come to protect His chosen people.

Bible prophecy will be fulfilled.
