Mahmoud Abbas who claims now to be the President of the state of Palestine after the UN General Assembly upgraded the Palestinian UN delegation has proclaimed that the Palestinian state is a state with a capital city named Jerusalem which Abbas calls the eternal capital of Palestine.
This pronouncement was made to the cheers of the Palestinian people and was totally rejected by the Israeli government.
With both peoples, the Palestinians and the Israelis claiming Jerusalem as their capital city the conflict surrounding the city of Jerusalem will only intensify.
Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News
When the Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas announced that Jerusalem is the eternal capital of the state of Palestine he set the stage for a number of lines of prophecy for the end of times to be fulfilled.
Just days after the UN General Assembly voted in favor of upgrading the Palestinian delegation to the UN to a state status, the Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas announced to the world not only did the Palestinian people have a state called Palestine, but he proclaimed that Jerusalem is the eternal capital of this Palestinian state. This proclamation is in the face of the statements by all previous prime ministers of Israel, all the way back to the very first one, David Ben Gurion when he claimed that Jerusalem is the undivided, eternal capital of the Jewish people.
According to the Bible, the second King of Israel, King David captured the Jebusite stronghold called Jerusalem and made this fortress city the political capital of the Jewish people and that happened 3000 years ago and is recorded in II Samuel 5. King David was also given a covenant by God, the Davidic Covenant, II Samuel 7, that promised the Jewish people Jerusalem forever. Zechariah 1 reveals that the Messiah, Jesus Christ, will come back to Jerusalem and build His Temple in the holy city. Zechariah also said that Jerusalem will be a city of controversy until Jesus Christ does come back, Zechariah 12:2. In fact, when Jesus does return to the earth, He comes to the Mount of Olives in the city of Jerusalem, Zechariah 14:4.
The Bible reveals events of the last days as it relates to Jerusalem, all prophecies that will be fulfilled.
