In a meeting with Palestinian dignitaries from Jerusalem, PA President Mahmoud Abbas told his guests that a solution for Jerusalem would be key to any peace deal with Israel and that there would be no independent Palestinian state without Jerusalem as its capital.
Israelis and Palestinians both claim Jerusalem as their capital cities and Mahmoud Abbas said that Jerusalem has always been in their hearts and the hope that the Palestinians have looked at as the major concern in the coming difficult days.
Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News
The declaration by PA President Mahmoud Abbas that Jerusalem is the key issue in the upcoming Middle East Peace Conference is a page out of Bible prophecy for the Last Days.
Even though Jerusalem has never been the capital city of a Palestinian state, the demand has now surfaced that Jerusalem must be the capital of a Palestinian state or there will be no Palestinian state. The truth be known, there has never been a Palestinian state in the Middle East with or without Jerusalem as its capital city. The Israeli negotiators had been telling the Palestinian negotiators that Jerusalem is indeed on the table and a deal could be worked out for a divided Jerusalem making it possible for both the Israelis and the Palestinians to claim a portion of the city as its capital.
The status of Jerusalem and a Middle East Peace Conference both are key issues in every prophetic scenario that can be found in Bible prophecy. The ancient Jewish prophet Daniel wrote 2,500 years ago that Jerusalem, the Holy city mentioned by Daniel, Daniel 9:24, would indeed be in focus as a key issue to End Time prophecy. The prospect for peace will also play a role in the Last Days, Daniel 9:27, which reveals that the coming world leader, the Antichrist, will bring about a peace between the Jews and the enemies of Israel all related to Jerusalem.
The Abbas statement that Jerusalem is key to the upcoming peace conference does indeed set the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.
