EU members of parliament want to be a major player on the world stage

At the annual meeting of the EU members of parliament involved in foreign affairs and security, the Polish member of parliament, Head of Foreign Affairs Committee, Jack Wolski, said that the EU foreign policy is moving from one era to another even as the new Lisbon Treaty will kick in next year.

The EU is seeking to bolster its role in foreign policy and security policy which would include the development of its own army to help enforce the EU foreign policy decisions. Mr. Wolski said that if the EU is to be a global player, the European Parliament must be ready to give advice and consent to the new permanent president of the EU called for by the Lisbon Treaty that will direct European policy in the future.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

The decision by members of the European Parliament to bolster the EU's foreign policy and security efforts under the Lisbon Treaty is a precursor to Bible prophecy being fulfilled.

With the signing of the Lisbon Treaty in December of 2007, the decision by the 27 member states of the Eu put in motion the establishment of a permanent president for the EU, one who will be a major world leader and who will direct the EU's foreign policy into the future.

This report is like reading from the pages of Bible prophecy as it pertains to Europe, the world stage and the End Times. Daniel 2 and 7 call for a political apparatus to be in place in the Last Days that has many similarities to the old Roman Empire, its borders, its common currency, its parliament and its military might. The ten toes of Daniel 2:42-44 and the ten horns of Daniel 7:7, 24 are both prophecies of the revived Roman Empire which the EU today certainly seems to be at least the infrastructure for the future revived Roman Empire.

These recent moves by the European Parliament do indeed set the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.
