World leaders claim that the Israeli-Palestinian peace talks in Washington are a historic opportunity to resolve this Middle East conflict

Direct talks between the Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and the Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in Washington DC is believed to be possibly the last chance to bring about a resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and set in place a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as the capital city for the Palestinian people. Meanwhile Hamas, the faction of the Palestinian people who are involved in an armed struggle against Israeli occupation, say that the peace talks are illegitimate and that they will not accept a peace agreement with Israel.

Jacob's descendants are the Jews and the state of Israel and the Palestinian people of today are the descendants of Esau, the Edomites of Biblical times. Ancient Jewish prophets reveal the conflict will continue until Jesus Christ comes to Earth at the end of the seven year Tribulation period (Ezekiel 35, Malachi 1, Jeremiah 49, and Obadiah).
