An Iraqi court found Saddam Hussein guilty of crimes against humanity for the slaughter of Shiite Muslims and the former Iraqi leader was sentenced to death by hanging.
To counter the possible outbreak of violence, Iraqi officials implemented a curfew on Baghdad that has resulted in a tense calm with streets of the city deserted despite fears that a guilty verdict could fuel sectarian violence. The mandatory appeals process for Saddam is expected to take only a few weeks and if the sentence is upheld, execution of Saddam must be carried out within 30 days of the decision.
Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News
The guilty verdict of Saddam Hussein and the sentence of death by hanging of the former Iraqi leader is a page out of Bible prophecy for the End Times.
Over the last year the trial of Saddam Hussein has been watched by the world and has been somewhat of a drama being played out on a public stage. The precedings of the Iraqi High Court have been focused on only one of many crimes against humanity during Saddam's reign as the dictatorial leader of the Iraqi peoples made up of the Sunni and Shiite Muslims and the Kurds. The truth is, the slaughter of hundreds and thousands of Kurds, the more horrific crimes against humanity, crimes that are now being judged by Iraqi courts.
This report is evidence that Bible prophecy is coming better into focus day by day. Jesus in His Olivet Discourse recorded in Matthew 24, warned that He would come back when the world would be as it was in the days of Noah, that's Matthew24:37. Those days of Noah after the Flood, 350 years of days in those days, the world was focused on the area where Noah and in fact the entire population of the world were living; they were living in Babylon, a city built by Noah's great grandson, Nimrod, that's Genesis 11:4.
Babylon in biblical times is today modern-day Iraq, which indeed was the focus of the world in Noah's day as it is today.
