In an opinion column in the Washington Post, the renown foreign policy expert, Henry Kissinger, said the potential for a global catastrophe dwarfed lingering transatlantic mistrust left over from the Iraq war and called for unity between the US and Europe.
The former Secretary of State warned that Europe and the US must unite to head off a war of civilizations arising from a nuclear armed Middle East and a common Atlantic policy must become top priority for Europe and the US. Kissinger wrote that the big threats were the emergence of transnational groups and Iran at the center of the challenge with its nuclear program.

The warning from foreign policy expert Henry Kissinger of a coming war of civilizations is an alert to students of Bible prophecy of a scenario for the Last Days found in God's Word, the Bible.
World leaders, foreign policy experts, and political pundents have been warning of a coming international conflict which is quickly approaching our world. Several of these observers of current events have even mentioned that we are now involved in WWIII or at least at the beginning phases of a world war. The numerous conflicts around the world are only evidence that the trends do seem to indicate the closeness of a war of civilizations.
As I mentioned, students of Bible prophecy look at current events with a biblical prophetic world view and recognize the times in which we are living as the times described in Bible prophecy. Jesus Christ said there would be wars and rumors of wars, nation would rise against nation and kingdoms against kingdoms, that's a war of civilizations and that warning came from the Lord's Olivet Discourse found recorded in Matthew 24:6-7. Many Jewish prophets wrote of these international conflicts some 2,500 years ago. Prophets like Obadiah, Joel, Micah and Zechariah and the New Testament John the Apostle in the book of Revelation. In fact, John and Zechariah revealed how this war of civilizations would come together in Revelation 19 and Zechariah 14.
Kissinger's warning of a coming war of civilizations is evidence Bible prophecy will indeed be fulfilled.
