The Iraqi government wants to turn the Biblical site of Babylon into a major tourist attraction

With the rapidly improving security conditions in Iraq, the surrounding Babel province has persuaded the US State Department and the Iraqi State Board of Antiquities and Heritage to embark on a preservation project with plans to make the ancient city of Babylon a major tourist attraction.

This war torn nation sees an opportunity to restore this Biblical city to a stage that could attract visitors from all over the world to the site of such great historic figures as Nebuchadnezzar and Alexander the Great.

The US and Iraq will work together on this project that they believe can become at least what it was before Saddam Hussein if they are not able to bring it to where it was when the ancient city of Babylon ruled the world.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

As the US and Iraq work together to restore the ancient Biblical city of Babylon as a tourist attraction for war torn Iraq, the stage is being set for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.

For many years, I have reported the restoration of the Biblical site of Babylon under the leadership of the late Saddam Hussein. There are reports that Saddam spent 500 million dollars to restore Babylon not necessarily as a tourist site, but because Saddam believed he was a reincarnation of King Nebuchadnezzar who ruled the world from Babylon 2,500 years ago.

This Babylon project is in reality setting the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled. A number of ancient Jewish prophets wrote centuries ago that Babylon would once again come to power before it was totally and completely destroyed, which has never happened.

Revelation 18 calls for the literal city of Babylon to be the economic center of the world and to be ruled over by the Antichrist for the last three and a half years of the seven year Tribulation Period. Isaiah in his prophecy, chapters 13-14, Jeremiah in chapters 50-51 and John the Apostle, in Revelation 16:17-20 all call for the total and complete destruction of Babylon.

The move to make Babylon a tourist attraction is indeed Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.

The announcement by an Ethiopian religious leader that he had the holy Ark of the Covenant has been proven to be false

Ark hunters and Bible enthusiasts recently were buzzing with the possibility that the Biblical Ark of the Covenant would be put on display in Rome, Italy. Now, they realized that the leader of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church patriarch Abuna Pauolos could not produce the Ark which he claims to have seen.

The Ethiopian patriarch had been in Rome to meet with the Pope and he told the Pope that the Ark of the Covenant is in Ethiopia and has been there for many centuries and that he had actually seen the Ark which he described to be in very good condition.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

Claims by an Ethiopian religious leader or anyone else that the Ark of the Covenant has been in Ethiopia contradicts the Word of God and sets the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.

For a number of years, Ark hunters have been searching for the most important piece of furniture that was a part of the temple worship in the Jewish temple in Jerusalem. The search was motivated by tradition that the third King of Israel, King Solomon, had given the Ark to the Queen of Sheba and she had taken it to Ethiopia, a tradition that Jewish scholars say has no basis of truth. Some Ark hunters do believe the Ark to be in Ethiopia and there are those who even say Israeli commandos raided the Ethiopian church where the Ark was supposedly housed and returned the holy relic to Jerusalem.

According to the Bible, all of these accounts of the Ark being in Ethiopia are totally false. I Kings 8 reveals that King Solomon placed the Ark of the Covenant in the Holy of Holies in the Jewish temple that he built 3000 years ago. 400 years later, II Chronicles 35:3 reveals that King Josiah had the Levites place the Ark in a secret secluded hiding place underneath the temple in the 620's BC. During the Babylonian Captivity which took place from 605 BC through 539 BC, the Ark was still in that hiding place in Jerusalem according to Ezekiel 9:3 where it says that the glory of the Lord lifted off of the Ark of the Covenant to go back to the heavens.

Religious Jewish experts claim that the Ark of the Covenant is under the Temple Mount - underneath the Dome of the Rock - and will be brought out when the next temple stands in Jerusalem - according to Bible prophecy that may be fulfilled in the very near future.

An Israeli political leader says if elected prime minister, he will build the Jewish temple in Jerusalem

Moshe Feiglin, head of the Jewish Leadership Movement and a member of Prime Minister Netanyahu's Likud Party, said that if he was elected as Prime Minister of Israel, he will try to build the destroyed temple in Jerusalem - something that is the aspiration of every Jew. Feiglin said that he would take away control over the Temple Mount from the Islamic Trust that now has custodial responsibilities of this sacred spot and reinstate Jewish sovereignty over the entire mount and hopefully rebuild the temple. Feiglin said that Israeli political leaders since 1967 have missed the chance to realize every Jew's aspiration to rebuild the temple in Jerusalem.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

The statement by an Israeli political leader that, if elected prime minister, he would rebuild the temple in Jerusalem, has an interesting connection to Bible prophecy on the subject of the temple.

On a daily basis and three times every day, many religious Jews pray for the rebuilding of their temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. Most Israeli political leaders shy away from any talk about the temple, realizing if there is to be a temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem that the Dome of the Rock, a Moslem commemorative building must be removed which assuredly would spark a major conflict in the Middle East. Now that for the first time an Israeli politician is saying that if elected prime minister he would rebuild the temple, the prospects increase for that major Jewish-Moslem conflict. What is so interesting is that Bible prophecy predicts both will happen. There will be a conflict over Jerusalem and the Temple Mount, and there will be a temple rebuilt on that sacred spot.

2500 years ago, the ancient Jewish prophet Zechariah wrote that Jerusalem, in the last days, would be the center of controversy (Zechariah 12:2-3). The prophet also said that the Messiah, Jesus Christ, would return and rebuild the temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem (Zechariah 1:16, 6:12).

Whether an Israeli prime minister will ever have a part in building the temple on the Temple Mount or not, Messiah will rebuild the temple. Bible prophecy will be fulfilled.

Al Qaeda is calling for Moslems to attack Jerusalem

In a recently released recording posted on a terrorist internet website, the number 2 man in Al Qaeda, the Islamic terrorist organization, the deputy Al Qaeda leader al-Zawahiri issued a new call for an attack on Israel. Osama bin Laden's deputy urged the Al Qaeda - Iraqi followers to sneak across borders, make their way to Israel, and then liberate Jerusalem giving the city to the Palestinian people as the capital of their state called Palestine which, actually, is a similar call that was made by the late Saddam Hussein.

The Egyptian-born terrorist criticized Egypt's President Mubarak for applying pressure on Hamas to recognize the state of Israel and al-Zawahiri called on the Palestinians to attack Israelis and their allies outside of the country saying that the enemies of Islam, the crusaders, and the Jews are everywhere.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

The call by Al Qaeda to liberate Jerusalem is a scenario that is found in Bible prophecy for the last days.

In the news story of this prophetic prospective, I mentioned the late Saddam Hussein who also had called for the liberation of Jerusalem. Saddam had formed a 7 million man army to go to Jerusalem to liberate the city and give it to the Palestinian people as the capital of their state called Palestine. Now, the major terrorist force in Iraq, Al Qaeda, has been urged to cross borders into Israel, go to Jerusalem, and liberate the city for Moslem purposes.

This is almost word for word from the pages of Bible prophecy for the end times. The ancient Jewish prophet Joel wrote that in the last days there will be a mighty militia formed - in fact, the largest army ever formed on the Earth and they will go to Jerusalem and liberate the holy city (Joel 2:2-3). This mighty Moslem military force will want to establish Jerusalem as the headquarters for the worldwide caliphate, an Islamic kingdom. However, the God of the Jews - the God of the Bible has different plans for Jerusalem. He will dwell among His people, the Jewish people, forever (Psalm 132:13-14) and He will dwell in a temple in Jerusalem that He will build and rule and reign from (Zechariah 6:12-13). Bible prophecy will be fulfilled.

The Israeli government is studying plans for an international airport in the Jezreel Valley, site of the future Battle of Amageddon

A major political battle is raging over the pending construction of a new international airport in Megiddo in the Jezreel Valley, the site of the future Biblical, Last Days Battle of Armageddon.

The residents of this area say that the airport would bring significant harm to the agricultural land reserves of the Jezreel Valley and it is one of the worst elements of Israeli development policy.

Known as the "Bread Basket of Israel" the Jezreel Valley is not only vital to the agricultural needs of the Jewish state, but opponents to the planned airport say it would destroy the Biblical significance of the area and have a significant impact on tourism in the area as well.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

The Israeli government may want to construct an international airport in the Jezreel Valley, but Bible prophecy reveals something quite different for that location in the Last Days.

Since the beginning of the modern day state of Israel, the Jezreel Valley has been a major source for all the food stuffs that Israelis have consumed. The region of the Jezreel Valley has also been a key tourist attraction with Nazareth, home of Jesus Christ, on the edge of the valley and Megiddo, the site of 26 civilizations of the Jewish and Biblical peoples. With this proposal for the construction of an international airport in the valley, Israel's agricultural and tourism industries will be harmed significantly.

This aside, Bible prophecy calls for the Jezreel Valley to be the site of the Battle of Armageddon with the armies of the world gathering in this 1,000 square mile area to fight against the Messiah, Jesus Christ, Revelation 19:11-17 and Zechariah 14:4-5. This army, possibly 100 million soldiers, led by Satan, Antichrist and the False Prophet, will be defeated by Jesus Christ, Revelation 19:17-19. This Battle of Armageddon will bring an end to war, Jesus Christ will setup His eternal Kingdom at the conclusion of this battle.

International airport in the Jezreel Valley or not, Bible prophecy will be fulfilled.

There is a severe drought that threatens the traditional site of the Garden of Eden

Iraqi officials say a severe drought is threatening Iraq's southern marshes, the traditional site of the Biblical Garden of Eden, just as the region was recovering from Saddam Hussein's draining of its lakes and swamps to punish a political rebellion in that region several years ago. This marsh Arab culture has existed for thousands of years in the 8,000 square miles of wetlands fed by the Tigris and Euphrates rivers where hundreds of species of birds fish have lived in these fertile farmlands.

This vast expanse of cracked earth has been coming back to life with the help of the United Nations but the debilitating drought has ravaged much of southern Iraq and neighboring countries in the last two years and thus reeked havoc in this traditional site for the Biblical Garden of Eden.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

Iraq's claim to the traditional site of the Garden of Eden is wrong but the true site is significant in the end times Bible prophecy scenario for this Biblical site.

For years, the people of Iraq have claimed that in the southern marsh lands of their country could be found the Biblical Garden of Eden. This claim was based upon the location of the two rivers, the Tigris and Euphrates that flow together in this region. Iraqi officials made the claim based upon the mention of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers in the Biblical account of the Garden of Eden in Genesis 2. A closer look at the passage will reveal that these two rivers were not in the Garden of Eden but somewhere outside of the garden.

One must remember that the Garden of Eden existed prior to the worldwide Flood of Genesis 6-8, at which time the total topography was changed. The Biblical text says that there was only one river in the Garden of Eden. That was the Gihon river (Genesis 2:10) and that river today is located in Jerusalem. Bible prophecy says that enemies of Israel will try to take the Garden of Eden for the headquarters of its caliphate or worldwide kingdom in the last days (Isaiah 51:3, Ezekiel 36:35, and Joel 2:3).

Bible prophecy will indeed be fulfilled at the true Garden of Eden in Jerusalem.

A new Jewish interfaith organization says that the Jewish temple can be built on Jerusalem's Temple Mount without the destruction of the Islamic Dome

Recently, a new Jewish interfaith group launched a project to diffuse religious strife by showing that the end of times vision of the Jewish people, a temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, could be fulfilled without destroying the Islamic Dome of the Rock. Yoav Frankel, director of the initiative, believes that the Jewish temple can be built alongside the Dome of the Rock and this would transform the Temple Mount from a place of contention to a place of worship shared by Jews, Moslems, and Christians.

Islamic cleric Sheik Abdulla Darwish says that as long as there is one Moslem alive, there will be no Jewish temple and the Jewish activist Baruch Ben-Yosef, made it clear that the Temple must be built where the Dome of the Rock now stands.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

The continuing debate between Moslems and Jews about what has the right to occupy the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, the Dome of the Rock or a Jewish Temple, is setting the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.

3000 years ago the Jewish King Solomon built the first Jewish temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. A secong Jewish temple was also erected there after the Babylonian captivity and Jews returned to Jerusalem some 2500 years ago.

The destruction of the city of Jerusalem and the Jewish temple by the Romans in 70AD left the Temple Mount empty of a Jewish worship center. The Moslems, in 691AD, built the Dome of the Rock on the site where the two Jewish temples had once stood. For the last 200o years, Jews have prayed daily for the temple to be rebuilt on the exact spot where the first two temples stood and where the Islamic building now stands. A growing number of religious Jews are preparing to erect the third temple on the Temple Mount and they believe that the Dome of the Rock must come down.

Many ancient Jewish prophets wrote of the temple being rebuilt in the last days - Daniel, (Daniel 9:27) Ezekiel, (Ezekiel 40-46) Zechariah, (Zechariah 1:16,6:12-13) and even the Apostle John (Revelation 11:1-2).

Any suggestion of building the Jewish temple alongside the Islamic Dome of the Rock contradicts prophecy.

Bible prophecy will be fulfilled.

Tony Blair says there could be Middle East peace within the year

The Middle East Peace Envoy for the Quartet (United States, European Union, United Nations and Russia) Tony Blair, says an Israeli-Palestinian peace agreement could be reached within the year but only if all sides agree to peaceful negotiations. The former British Prime Minister said there is a great sense of hope and expectation in the Middle East after United States President Obama's recent outreach to the Islamic world, and if everyone would commit themselves to a two state solution, this peace deal could be in place within the year.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

The fact that the Middle East Peace Envoy, Tony Blair, says there could be peace in the Middle East within the year is a page out of Bible prophecy for the end times.

Following the recent speech by United States President Obama to the Moslem world, there has been expectation that there is indeed hope for some kind of peace in the Middle East. The fact that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said he and Israel would accept a Palestinian state howbeit a demilitarized state has also given hope to those working for a peace agreement between the Israelis and the Palestinians. Now, with Tony Blair's comments that there could be a peace deal between Israel and the Palestinians within the year, the peace process seems to be moving towards a deal.

This scenario is really a page out of Bible prophecy. The ancient Jewish prophet Daniel wrote of the revival of the Old Roman Empire which would be led by a world leader powerful enough to put this peace deal together. The prophecy of the Revived Roman Empire (Daniel 7:7,24) could well be fulfilled in the near future. The infrastructure is actually is in place - that is the European Union. The world leader that comes from that political powerhouse (Daniel 7:8,24) could be the permanent president that is called for in the European Union's Lisbon Treaty. Daniel 9:27 does reveal this world leader will bring peace to the Middle East.

Tony Blair's declaration of a Middle East peace within the year does indeed set the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.

An Islamic cleric in Israel says that he would rather die than to see the rebuilding of a Jewish temple in Jerusalem

Sheik Raad Salah, the leader of the Islamic movement in Israel and speaking to Moslem students at Haifa University, told them that he would rather die than to give up the Islamic holy site where the Dome of the Rock is located in Jerusalem, the Temple Mount, and suggested the students should be ready to do the same. Sheik Salah also repeated his claim that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu was intending on completing his plan to gain control of the Temple Mount and to rebuild the Jewish temple on the site that Moslems believe is holy - the third holiest site after Mecca and Medina.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

Moslems that would give their lives to protect and possess the Temple Mount in Jerusalem area actually setting the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.

The Temple Mount in Jerusalem is becoming more and more a center of controversy. The Temple Mount is the third holiest piece of real estate for Moslems. To the Jews, it the most holy site in all of the world and the site of the first and second Jewish temples. Moslems who are ready to die to protect and possess this site would fit a scenario that will be played out in the last days according to Bible prophecy.

Zechariah said that the Temple Mount would be the center of controversy in the end times (Zechariah 12:2). Isaiah, Ezekiel, and Joel said that the Moslem world would come to Jerusalem to take it from the Jewish people (Isaiah 51:3, Ezekiel 36:35, and Joel 2:3). Ezekiel also wrote of a temple on the Temple Mount for the Messiah to rule and reign from that location (Ezekiel 40 - 46). Ezekiel's temple is the temple for the kingdom period in the future. The next temple to be erected on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem will be the one standing during the seven year Tribulation period (Daniel 9:27, Matthew 24:15, II Thessalonians 2:4, and Revelation 11:1). However, this next temple will not be built until after the Rapture when Christians depart from Earth for the heavens. Until that time, no one can build the temple even Prime Minister Netanyahu.

Bible prophecy will be fulfilled.

Twitter is becoming a major player in geopolitical events in our world

Twitter, the short messaging website, has moved onto the world stage as a major player in geopolitical events and is being used as a means to spread late breaking news to the world as well as becoming a diplomatic tool and a source for gathering intelligence information.

In the recent riots in Teheran, demonstrators used Twitter when the world media was barred from making reports from the scene. Israeli diplomats say that Twitter has revolutionized Israeli diplomacy; however, Israeli intel agents fear that Twitter or Facebook may be used by enemies of the Jewish state to extract information from unsuspecting military personnel and pass it along to Israel's enemies.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

Twitter, Facebook and any other short messaging websites are today becoming major players in geopolitical events, but will also be significant in future events according to Bible prophecy.

During the mass demonstrations protesting the Iranian elections, Twitter became the major source of news coming out of Iran. In fact, Twitter is also an important tool in diplomacy as Israeli diplomats have learned. It is a tool that can help change world opinion and do that in a hurry.

The speed of communications will play a key role in the End Times according to Bible prophecy. Revelation 18 explains the last 3 1/2 years of the Tribulation, that seven year time of intense judgment on the earth and earth dwellers. The passage explains that the international headquarters for a one world leader, the Antichrist, will be in Iraq, Biblical Babylon and they will need instant communications to control the buying and selling of everything. Revelation 13:15-16 reveals that during this time, everyone on earth will have an identification mark in order to buy or sell. Though Christians will not have to worry about this time, those remaining on earth after the Rapture, when Christians leave this world, will be faced with this scenario.

Indeed Twitter and Facebook are preparing the world for this prophetic scenario to be played out.

The Palestinian Authority has warned Palestinians that they will face a death penalty for selling land to Jews

The Palestinian Authority has issued a warning to Palestinians against selling their homes or their properties to Jewish people saying that those who violate the order would be accused of high treason, a charge that carries the death penalty. The chief Islamic judge of the Palestinian Authority, Sheik Rajab Tamimi, said that the existing fatwa, a religious decree, bans Muslims from selling property to Jews which according to Islamic teaching is a grave sin and, if ignored, the death penalty would be applied. The sheik said that the ban was necessary to counter the Jewish efforts to change the Arab and Islamic culture of Jerusalem to make it a Jewish city instead of a religious, political, and spiritual capital of the Palestinian people.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

Even though the Palestinian Authority gives the death penalty to a Palestinian who sells land to Jews, the fulfillment of end time Bible prophecy will not be stopped.

The Palestinian Authority has, for years, implemented the death penalty on Palestinians that have sold land or even been involved in an arrangement to sell land to the Jewish people. One of the Muslim judges involved with the Palestinian Authority has issued another warning and a reminder to the Palestinian people that Islamic law forbids the sale of property to Jews by Muslim people.

This report brings to mind several issues that have a connection to end time Bible prophecy. The Palestinian Authority, the governing body of the Palestinian people, has no authority to issue a death penalty but past experience show they can back up their warning and a number of Palestinians have been executed for selling property to Jews - evidence that the Palestinians, Edomites of history, all descendents of Esau, hate Jews (Genesis 27:40-41).

As it relates to the land that might be bought or sold - the land is God's land (Leviticus 25:23) and He has promised it to the Jewish people and those promises are contained within the Abrahamic Covenant (Genesis 15:18), the Land Covenant (Deuteronomy 30:1-9), and the New Covenant (Jeremiah 31:17).

In the future, land owned by the Palestinians will not be sold to the Jews but instead given to them by God. Bible prophecy will be fulfilled.

Israel is losing the war of world opinion - even among Christians

The war that Israel keeps losing is the war of world opinion, the war for individual hearts and minds, and a war that is also being lost among normally staunch supporters of Israel - the evangelical Christian community. There is a movement among the Christian community that is eroding support for Israel led by men like Brian McLaren, author of the book, "A New Kind of Christian", Stephen Sizer, a pastor who has gained popularity by condemning Christian Zionism, and Former President Jimmy Carter, who accuses Israel of committing a holocaust against the Palestinians.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

The war that the Jewish state of Israel keeps losing even among Christians, the war for world opinion, the loss of this war will set the stage for the fulfillment of Bible prophecy for the end times.

For the last 60+ years, the Jewish state of Israel has been at war - not necessarily on the battlefield, but the war for the hearts and minds of the world as mankind looks at Israel and its efforts to sustain life in a very tough neighborhood. Israeli leaders have said that they do not consult world opinion before making moves to protect the people of the Jewish state. Now, however, there is a move among Israeli leaders to rethink their lack of public relations especially to their most avid supporters, the Christian community.

In the last several years, there have appeared Christian leaders who are very much opposed to Christian support for Israel and even the Jewish people - men like Brian McLaren, Stephen Sizer, and and even former President Jimmy Carter. These men and others like them do not see God's plan for the Jewish people in the future as found in Bible prophecy. That would mean that God must default on His promises to the Jewish people as found in the Abrahamic Covenant (Genesis 12 and 15) to give the Jewish people a nation and a land, a land in fact 10 times what they have today. They also reject the Davidic Covenant (II Samuel 7) and the promise of a temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem where Jesus Christ will sit on a throne as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

With or without Christian support for Israel, Bible prophecy will be fulfilled.

Sharia law is making great strides in the Middle East, into the West and around the world

Pakistan recently gave in to the pressures of Islamist militants and in order to buy off peace, Pakistani authorities allowed the imposition of Sharia, Islamic law, to be implemented in the Swat Valley, a war-torn tribal area of the Islamic nation of Pakistan.

The Pakistani government not only allowed a precedent that could spread throughout all Pakistan, but the truth be known, Islamic law, Sharia law, is making end roads across all of the Middle East and even creeping into the Western countries as well.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

The spread of Sharia law, Islamic law, across the Middle East and in the nations in the West coupled with the ever-expanding Moslem populations around the world is setting the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.

European leaders have been very concerned with the ever-expanding Moslem populations in their nations and have been confused as how to handle this phenomenon. Now, in these highly populated Moslem areas, there has surfaced a new phenomenon, the demand for Sharia law, the Islamic law of the land, to be implemented and these Moslem communities want this done right now. Sharia law is the law of the land that would rule every nation in the world if Islamic leaders are successful in bringing about a worldwide caliphate, an Islamic kingdom on earth with everyone subject to Allah, the Islamic god.

Ancient Jewish prophets, though not using the words Islam or Sharia, actually spoke to the issue under discussion in their volumes of pre-written history. Joel in Joel 2:3-4 spoke of a mighty militia, a Moslem militia, the largest the world has ever seen, heading towards Jerusalem to destroy the Jewish state. Daniel 11:40-44, Ezekiel 38 and Psalm 83 all list nations that will join this mighty Moslem militia to destroy the Jewish state of Israel.

The spread of Sharia law as the law of the land in more and more nations in our world today is indeed setting the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.

WHO, the World Health Organization, has declared a global flu pandemic

After an emergency meeting of the World Health Organization, referred to as WHO, the organization declared a global flu pandemic which means that the Swine Flu is spreading in at least two regions of the world with rising cases being seen in the United Kingdom, Australia, Japan, and Chile. Swine Flu has spread to 74 countries with officials reporting 28,000 cases globally and figures are rising daily which could repeat the first flu pandemic some 40 years ago in 1968 when Hong Kong Flu killed about 1 million people.

WHO spokesman, Gregory Hardy, said they had been expecting something more like the deadlier Bird Flu where they would see really high death rates thus there were people who believed that we might be in a kind of an apocalyptic situation.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

Though the Swine Flu global pandemic declared by the World Health Organization is not yet apocalyptic as many had expected, it is a precursor to what will be apocalyptic in the future - according to Bible prophecy.

The World Health Organization has been waiting to declare a global Swine Flu pandemic for the right moment, not wanting to cause worldwide panic. In the back of their minds, WHO remembers the 1968 flu pandemic with the loss of 1 million people. In today's world with global transportation and more crowded areas, the spread of Swine Flu has been enhanced. This declaration by the World Health Organization of the global pandemic is a reminder to Bible prophecy students that the future will unfold such a pandemic in our world.

Jesus Christ, in His Olivet Discourse, used the Old English word "pestilence" in Matthew 24:7 when talking about a global pandemic that will cause death. This coming worldwide spread of disease would be a sign of the Lord's return to Earth. In the book of Revelation, John the Apostle wrote of the last days and the judgments to come with the fourth seal judgment being death of one fourth of the Earth's population (Revelation 6:7-8).

Whether Swine Flu is what's referred to or not in Bible prophecy, Bible prophecy will be fulfilled.

US Peace Envoy George Mitchell tells Israeli and Palestinian leaders they must come to an early conclusion in peace talks

The US Middle East Envoy George Mitchell while in the Middle East, has told both Israeli and Palestinian leaders that the US wants a prompt resumption and early conclusion of Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiations.

Mitchell said the only viable resolution to this conflict is for the aspirations of both sides to be met through two states and that Americans, Europeans, Arabs and others must work to create the conditions for a peace agreement between the Israelis and the Palestinians.

Mitchell assured Israeli PM Netanyahu that the US commitment to Israeli security was unshakable and at the same time, Mitchell told PA President Mahmoud Abbas that the US will not turn its back on Palestinian aspirations for dignity, opportunity and a state of their own.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

A call by the US for a swift resumption of peace talks between the Israelis and the Palestinians and an early conclusion to the talks is a scenario that is setting the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.

Every US president over last several decades has wanted to be able to bring resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, all to no avail. Even some Middle Eastern leaders have begun to make a more dedicated effort in the peace process as it relates to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The quest for peace in the Middle East is at the top of most foreign policy agendas for world leaders and yet this peace has eluded all participants.

Bible prophecy does tell us that there is coming one world leader who will be able to bring about peace, at least for a season, in the Middle East. Daniel 9:27 reveals that this world leader, a false Messiah known to Bible prophecy students as the Antichrist, will appear and bring peace to the boiling pot of the Middle East. I believe this world leader is on the stage right now, ready for the final drama to unfold.

All efforts to bring peace to the Middle East are actually setting the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.

Global military spending has hit a new record high

A Stockholm based peace institute is reporting that global military spending has set a new record high up by 45% since 1999 and in contrast to civilian aerospace and airlines, the defense industry remains healthy.

The global financial crisis has yet to have an impact on major arms companies with the 100 leading defense manufacturers selling arms worth 347 billion dollars during 2007, the most recent year for which reliable data was available.

The US remains the biggest spender though China and Russia have reduced the gap with both China and Russia tripling their military spending budgets and Russia is maintaining plans for further increases despite severe economic problems.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

With global military spending setting new record highs in today's economy, there is evidence that Bible prophecy is closer to fulfillment than ever before.

Military information reveals there are over 150 conflicts and wars around the world today and this ever increasing number is what has caused global military spending to set new record highs in our world. Throughout the continent of Africa, there are numerous armed conflicts intensifying. In the Middle East, we hear daily reports of new conflicts or an intensification of the wars now in progress. The US, China and Russia lead the way in military spending and these big three seem to be right in the middle of almost every war.

This report is evidence that Jesus was correct when He said in His Olivet Discourse, Matthew 24, that before He came back to the earth, there would be wars and rumors of wars, nations against nations and kingdoms against kingdoms, Matthew 24:6-7. Many Jewish prophets wrote of this same scenario for the Last Days that would include Ezekiel, Daniel, Jeremiah, Joel, Obadiah and Malachi just to name a few. These ancient Jewish prophets echoed the words of Jesus Christ, in the Last Days, wars will be spreading around the world.

This record high in global military spending is indeed evidence that Bible prophecy will be fulfilled.

Political parties who are anti-Islam have come out as the big winners in the European Union elections

Anti-Islam political parties scored big victories in the European Union parliamentary voting even though it was a record low turn out of only 43% of the voters coming to the polls which seemed to have helped the right wing parties enter the European Union parliament. In the Netherlands, Geert Wilders, the filmmaker who's film links violence with the Koran - a film that has set off violent protest in the Muslim world - Wilders let his Freedom party to victory with double the representation that they had in the previous parliament.

A number of commentators said that this most recent European-wide vote revealed a major trend in the political arena in Europe to the right even as the world is watching the United States move to the left.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

The recent elections in the European Union revealed a major trend to the right politically and at the same time gave evidence of a trend that has prophetic significance as well - according to Bible prophecy.

As European voters went to the polls in the most recent parliamentary elections, the face of the European Union began to make a sharp turn to the right especially in the area of the ever increasing immigration of Muslims into Europe. Many European Union leaders like Germany's Chancellor Merkel and French President Sarkozy have been strengthened in their plans to develop the European Union as a major economic political, governmental union to represent the European nations on the world scene. Politically, this is a major victory. Prophetically, it is exactly what is called for in the prophetic scenario that is found in Bible prophecy.

The ancient Jewish prophet Daniel foretold of the time when the old Roman Empire would be revived (Daniel 7:7-8 and 23-24). In the book of Revelation, John wrote of that same scenario, the revival of that political power of the old Roman Empire (Revelation 13:1-3, 17:12). Bible prophecy does call for a major political, economic, governmental power to be in place in the last days - one located within the borders of the old Roman Empire.

These recent elections in the European Union have indeed set the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.

President Obama invites Iranian President Ahmadinejad to make a visit to a holocaust concentration camp

On his trip to Germany, US President Barack Obama visited the Nazi concentration camp at Buchenwald, the site where 250,000 prisoners were held during World War II and a location that has personal significance for the president as his great-uncle helped liberate a satellite concentration camp to Buchenwald where 50,000 Jews were killed. President Obama suggested that Iranian President Ahmadinejad, who this week, repeated his claims that the Holocaust was a great deception, should make his own visit to Buchenwald.

The president described the camp as the ultimate rebuke to people who deny the Holocaust and he added that he had no patience for people who would deny history and the history of the Holocaust is not something speculative.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

President Obama's statement that the history of the Holocaust is not something speculative is in the face of Iranian President Ahmadinejad and a reminder of yet another holocaust to come - according to Bible prophecy.

In his speech to the Muslim world as well as his visit to the Nazi concentration camp at Buchenwald in Germany, President Obama reminded the world of the Holocaust of the Jewish people some 65 years ago at the hands of the Nazi leader, Adolf Hitler. This attention drawn to the reality of the Holocaust must be a reminder of another Holocaust for the Jewish people - one even worst than the last.

The ancient Jewish prophets wrote of a time when many nations will rise up to kill the Jewish people including the nation of Iran (Ezekiel 38:5). Zechariah, another of the Jewish prophets, reveals that during the time of Jacob's Trouble, two out of every three Jews will be killed (Zechariah 13:8). The time period for these crimes for the Jewish people will be a seven year period of time of tribulation as described in Daniel 9:27 and Revelation 12:13-17.

Iranian President Ahmadinejad's deniel of the Holocaust and US President Obama's affirmation of the Holocaust are indeed reminders that Bible prophecy will be fulfilled.

The Islamic world reacts to President Obama's speech to Moslems with a mixed response

US President Obama, in a major foreign policy speech directed toward the Moslem world, called for a new beginning in relations between the United States and Moslems saying that he, as President of the United States, must fight against the stereotypes of Islam and to emphasize his point, the President quoted often in his speech from the Koran, the Islamic holy book.

The President reaffirmed US support for Israel but demanded that Israel must make way for a Palestinian state in what is now Israel's land especially the area of the Jewish settlements which the President said must be removed as an impediment to peace in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

President Obama's speech to the Moslem world will have no effect on those Islamic leaders who will play out the scenario that can be found in Bible prophecy for the last days.

President Obama's effort to bring about coexistance in our world between those who today follow the mandate of the Islamic holy book, the Koran, and non-Moslems, will be to no avail according to the reactions to his speech in Cairo, Egypt. Islamic leaders like Osama Bin Laden are calling for Moslems to prepare for a long holy war against the infidels and non-Moslems. Hamas, in the Gaza Strip, vow to continue their armed struggle against the Jewish state and never to recognize the right for Israel to be a nation in the Middle East.

Bible prophecy actually predicted the ultimate reaction to an effort to bring Moslems and non-Moslems together. The centerpiece of the Islamic hatred is the Jewish state of Israel and ancient Jewish prophets reveal that in the last days, the Islamic world would take action to remove Israel from the face of the Earth and that the name "Israel" would be forgotton forever (Psalm 83:4). Psalm 83 actually mentions the nations in the Islamic world today along with other prophecies like Ezekiel 38 and Daniel 11. The prophet Joel wrote about the largest military might ever formed on the Earth (Joel 2:2-3) and that this military might would go to Jerusalem to destroy the Jewish state. This militia will be made up of the Islamic nations listed in Bible prophecy.

The Obama speech should be a reminder that Bible prophecy will be fulfilled.

Palestinian officials say they finally have a friend in the White House who can force Israel to make major concessions

With the tough rhetoric coming from the Obama White House towards Israel, PA President Mahmoud Abbas and other Palestinian officials believe they have a friend in the White House who can force Israel to withdraw to the 1967 borders including the city of Jerusalem and dismantle all the Jewish settlements, a plan Israelis believe would put the Jewish state in harms way.

The Palestinians are following with deep satisfaction, news about the deepening crisis between the government of Netanyahu and the Obama Administration, even believing Obama may push Netanyahu out of office.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

The Obama administration's pressure on the Israeli government to stop construction in the Jewish settlements and to dismantle them to the satisfaction of the Palestinians is a precursor to the End Times scenario that is found in Bible prophecy.

The statement that the Palestinian people finally have a friend in the White House has made the Palestinians very optimistic about the plans for a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital. The Obama administration is continuing to apply pressure on the Israeli government to stop all construction on the Jewish settlements and to prepare for dismantling the settlements to be replaced by a Palestinian state. This Palestinian state would take all the land Israel acquired in the Six Day War and make it their Palestinian state.

Should President Obama and the Palestinians be successful, a Palestinian state would be in the heart of the Jewish state, a state with borders the Lord told the prophet Malachi would be borders of wickedness, Malachi 1. Even as the Palestinians would build their state, the words of the prophet Ezekiel would come to pass that God would punish the Palestinians for taking land God had given to the Jewish people, Ezekiel 35. Another Jewish prophet, Obadiah, tells us that God will not allow the Palestinians to win in this conflict, but instead the Palestinians, the Edomites of biblical times, will be a people that have never been.

President Obama's actions are indeed setting the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.

The Israeli Defense Force is preparing to deal with the Iranian nuclear threat

The chief of staff of the Israeli Defense Force has prepared a report that declares, for the first time in years, that the state of Israel is under and existential threat from Iran, which the defense establishment says is a threat to the very existence of the Jewish state. The threat consists of information on Tehran's nearly obtained nuclear capability, its existing ballistics aptitude, and proven embassary fighting in the form of funding for Hamas, Hezbullah, and other terrorist organizations.

The Israeli Defense Force chief of staff, General Gabi Ashkenazi, defines the Iranian peril as the number one threat that the Israeli Defense Force is now preparing for in this next year and the military leader says that this is the case because of the methods employed by other governments including the sanctions and negotiations which have failed and Israel must to that which is necessary to defend its very existence.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

The evaluation by the Israeli Defense Force that Iran is the number one threat to the Jewish state is a page out of Bible prophecy.

For a number of years the world has watched as the Iranians have been developing a nuclear weapon of mass destruction and have only been willing to talk about this threat and put in place sanctions that have completely failed. Now, the Obama Administration wants to have a sit down conversation with the leaders of Iran and try to negotiate this threat away. Meanwhile, the chief of staff of the Israeli Defense Force and the Israeli military establishment are preparing a way to defend and deal with the Iranian threat which is the number one threat to the very existence to the Jewish state.

As I mentioned, this scenario is a page out of Bible prophecy for the last days. 2500 years ago, the ancient Jewish prophet Ezekiel and also the Psalmist wrote about the Iranian threat. Ezekiel wrote, in Ezekiel 38:5, that the Persians would be one of the alignment of nations that will rise up to destroy the Jewish state in the last days. By the way, Persia is modern-day Iran. Psalm 83 states that the leader of this alignment of nations will call for the total destruction of Israel and that her name be forgotten for ever.

Iran, Israel's number one threat, will indeed play their end time role as Bible prophecy will be fulfilled.

Israel is staging its biggest ever nationwide war drill

Israel is holding its biggest emergency drill in the nation's history to prepare civilians, soldiers, and rescue crews for the possibility of war even as the Jewish state experiences rising tensions with Iran. The nationwide war drill is being conducted in public facilities including schools, military bases, and government offices with students, soldiers, and other civilians learning how to gather at protected places during an emergency.

This war drill comes amid tensions between Israel and Iran with Israel acknowledging that a nuclear armed Iran is the dominant threat to the Jewish state and with 81% of Israelis believing that Iran will develop a nuclear weapon of mass destruction.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

The fact that Israel is holding its biggest ever war drill is evidence that the end times scenario found in Bible prophecy is a reality and could happen in the near future.

The five day nationwide war drill being held in Israel is the biggest ever held in the Jewish state. Every branch of society will be included in this emergency drill as the tensions continue to rise between Israel and its Arab-Moslem neighbors especially Iran. Israeli intelligence agencies have, for a number of years, said that Iran is Israel's biggest threat and as Iran pushes towards a nuclear weapon of mass destruction, that threat only intensifies.

Israel's nationwide war drill is absolute evidence that the prewritten history in Bible prophecy for the last days is close upon us. A number of ancient Jewish prophets wrote thousands of years ago of this scenario for the last days. Daniel wrote that Syria and Egypt would attack the Jewish state (Daniel 11:40-45). The ancient prophet Ezekiel wrote in chapter 38 of his prophecy about Iran, Turkey, Sudan, Libya, Afghanistan, and Pakistan also in that coalition of states that will attack Israel. Psalm 83:4 says that these nations want to wipe Israel off the face of the Earth and that their name be forgotton forever.

Even as Israel prepares for this potential of war, the evidence is strong that Bible prophecy will be fulfilled and possibly in the very near future.
