JD: I think you told me last time we talked there were only two very serious holy days when you have a 25 hour fast. That was Yom Kippur a Day of Atonement and Tisha B’Av. Would you please explain for our listeners what Tisha B’Av is all about and where do we get the name from? What does it mean?
WM: Well Jimmy the Hebrew months of course have Hebrew names. And one that comes out usually between July and August. The ninth day is traditionally consider the day that both the first Temple and the second Temple were destroyed. It’s mentioned in some of the prophets about the fifth month because we some times count from the month of Nisan which is usually the month of Passover. So the fifth month would be Av.
The Jews have decided in their wisdom to lump all of those
horrific days when we not only lost the Temple and unable to practice our
traditions and our religious services and sacrifices and whatever else is
connected. But of course it also meant a loss of political sovereignty. We were
captured by the Babylonians and then by the Romans. As you mentioned in the
lead question it is so solemn that we conduct a 25 hour fast at least those who
are more religiously observant.
JD: You also I understand this is the time of the year that you
pray next year in Jerusalem and that prayer pertaining to the rebuilding of the
Temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. And you want that to happen at least
by next Tisha B’Av, in other words next year.
WM: That is true, but of course Jimmy we also talk a little bit
of politics now and then on this program. And now that we have the Temple Mount
technically in our hands of course the question is why don’t we do something
about it.
JD: Winkie Medad explaining that the Jews are praying for the
next Temple in Jerusalem to be built this year.
We report this information because it is setting the stage
for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.
The prayer for a Temple to be built in Jerusalem this year comes
at the time of Tisha B’Av the day that Jews mourn the destruction of two
pervious Jewish Temples in Jerusalem. Now the Jews want that next Temple up and
operating before Tisha B’Av next year. In other words the Temple to be re-built
in the next twelve months. That is a viable possibility because all
preparations have been made for that Temple to be ready for Jewish worship
within this next year. And by the way the Bible calls for this Temple right
now, that’s Daniel 9:27 and Revelation 11:1&2.
