The World Council of Churches, which brings together about 350 Protestant, Orthodox and other churches representing more than 560 million church members, has called for a complete withdrawal of US forces from Iraq.
The Church's largest ecumenical movement also said that the US and its allies must settle the dispute over Iran's nuclear program through negotiations because the Middle East should not suffer another war that is unlawful, immoral, and ill-conceived according to their opinion.
The World Council of Churches (WCC) said that the threat to begin another war in the Middle East defies the lessons of both history and ethics and the region and the people must not suffer another war.
Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News
The call by the WCC to end war in the Middle East actually echoes what a world-wide church will say during the first half of the seven-year Tribulation Period in the future according to Bible prophecy.
The WCC, which represents over 560 million church members around the world, has called upon the US and its allies to stop making war. This organization, the Church's largest ecumenical movement today, has declared the war in Iraq unlawful, immoral and ill-conceived and they do not want it to happen again. Although the Roman Catholic Church is not a member of the WCC, it cooperates with it.
This report is almost a prototype of what could well be reported in the first three and a half years of the future seven year Tribulation Period, a terrible time of judgment to come. The Apostle John wrote about this world-wide church body yet to come in Revelation 17. This one-world church revealed in Revelation will be headed up by the false messiah, the Antichrist. The Antichrist will rise to great power by leading this false church, headquartered in the city of Rome, and will bring war to an end, at least initially in the future, Daniel 9:27 and Revelation17.
The Church's largest ecumenical movement calling for an end to war in the Middle East is indeed setting the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.
