JD: You wrote an article earlier this week, Christianity is involved in genocide in Iraq in the Nineveh Plain. Now I know you were just there, this is bad news for the Christian community this is the peak of the iceberg probably there in the Nineveh Plain is it not?
KT: Well, that's right. It’s a complicated situation but the Nineveh Plain is the historic homeland of the Assyrian Calbian Christians in Iraq. It was prophesized by Saint Thomas it goes back obviously to the Old Testament as well. All the historical Nineveh is just outside of Mosul and this is one of the oldest Christian communities in the world and they’ve been driven out and decimated over the past 15 years since the liberation of Iraq in 2003.
There were 1.5 million Christians at that point; today there are 120,000. So it’s gone down 10 fold since the liberation of Iraq in 2003. What’s worse is that of those 120,000 who fled Mosul and the Nineveh Plain into the Kurdish controlled areas when ISIS took over roughly half of those people have already left and they left since the liberation. Why? They’ve gone back to their homes and been so distressed so disheartened at the destruction, at the lack of reconstruction aide, and at the obstacles thrown up against them by the Kurds who were supposed to be or pretending to be their friends. And that’s where things get complicated because the Kurds are America’s best allies really in that region but the Kurdish democratic party of President Masoud Barzani is playing a twisted double games and it’s very sad to witness this.
JD: Ken Timmerman who has recently been in northern Iraq and gives us the details on Christian genocide there in Iraq.
We report this information because it is setting the stage
for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.
I have several observations from Ken’s report. First the
location that he reported from that is Iraq, which is Biblical Babylon Revelation
chapter 18 and the headquarters for the Antichrist during the tribulation
period. This powerful world dictator will direct a genocide of all believers in
Christ at that time in the future.
This killing of
believers in Christ in the future is also foretold in Bible prophecy, that’s
Revelation 6:9, Revelation 12:13-17, and chapter 20 verses 4-6. Both of these
prophecies are yet to be fulfilled. But the genocide of Christians today in
Iraq is indeed setting the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.
