The Israel Antiquity Authority has reported studying an archaeological level dating back to the First Temple period on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem which was exposed during an illegal construction project that took place this summer, the digging of a trench by the Islamic Trust, custodians of the Temple Mount.
Meanwhile, as this controversy continues a group of religious Jews went onto the Temple Mount and recited the "priestly blessing", an historic first since this was the first time a "priestly blessing" has been recited on the Temple Mount since the destruction of the Temple in 70 AD.

Now, with the announcement of a major archaeological find, artifacts dating back to the First Temple Period about 3,000 years ago, the Israel Antiquities Authority says there is a silver lining to this story.
