The Vatican had to give permission for an Israeli archeologist to search the location where the Ark of the Covenant was stored

Listen to Today's Program Play

JD: Winkie Medad our broadcast partner is very interested in all of archeology of course because of where his hometown is. He went to a conference up at Tel Aviv University and they were talking about Kiryat Ye’arim. Now that’s the location if you study God’s word where King David went out to pick up the Ark of the Covenant and bring it back to Jerusalem about 3,000 years ago. And Winkie tell us what happened. Why haven’t they been able to find anything else out about this archeological site there at Kiryat Ye’arim?

WM: Kiryat Ye’arim it’s just West of Jerusalem. It’s a very very prominent hill that has a view going down almost to the coastline. So it’s always been a strategic hill. Israel Finkelstein has been digging there for the past 3 years now. He only has one problem though his dig is not totally free of restriction and he has to do only a little bit on the outside because unlike many other sites that are not built up on he has a nunnery on top of his site. It took I think he said something like a year and a half or more in order for them to get permission from the Vatican even to do probes on the area outside of the compound of the nunnery. And even then he only has pictures because they had to re-fill it in again so that they wouldn’t have people trampling all over the place trying to see what wall and what crevices and what ceramics were in that site.

JD: And that’s where King David went to get the Ark correct?

WM: That’s right, to bring it into Jerusalem.

JD: Winkie Medad with the details on the archeological site where the Ark of the Covenant was stored.

We report this information because it is setting the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.

The Ark of the Covenant was stored about 15 miles to the West of the city of Jerusalem. II Samuel 6 gives us the details on how King David went to that location to get the Ark of the Covenant and take it up to Jerusalem so that they could put the Ark in Solomon’s Temple. As Winkie told us the archeological dig has been hampered by a nunnery on top of the dig. This Ark will be the one that will be placed in the next Temple to be built in Jerusalem. That will be the Tribulation Temple. By the way that Temple is ready to be rebuilt right now. And that was called for in Daniel 9:27 and Matthew 24:15. This is next on God’s scenario for the Temple.
