Israeli President - “No Chance for Peace with Palestinians”

Israeli President Shimon Perez - the one-time proponent of a “New Middle East” - has said that there is no chance of a peace agreement between the Israelis and the Palestinians. Perez based his statement on the conflict between the two political factions of the Palestinian people, Hamas and Fatah. Perez said that Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian Authority President, has no support among his people and no power to carry out security agreements.

Perez also stated that any agreement made between Israel and the Palestinian Authority would crumble in days, due to the PA’s weakness.  This is bad news for those, (including US President Bush), who are trying to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and bring peace to the Middle East.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

The statement by Israeli President Perez that there is no chance for peace between the Israelis and the Palestinians, is absolutely true. That is, according to Bible prophecy.

For a number of years, many world leaders, including US Presidents, European diplomats, and even the UN Secretary General, have been working to bring about a resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Almost all of the Arab leaders blame the Israeli-Palestinian for all the unrest in the Middle East, and claim there could be peace, but only after the Palestinians and the Israeli can coexist in the region.

President Perez actually made a statement from the pages of Bible prophecy when he said that there is no chance for peace between the two peoples. The ancient Jewish prophets agree that the conflict will not be resolved until Jesus Christ returns to the earth, (Obadiah 16-18). Malachi 1 says that the Palestinians (called the Edomites in Biblical times) would return to rebuild, but the Lord would have indignation against them. Jeremiah 49:18 says that the Palestinians will be destroyed as Sodom and Gomorra.

Israeli President Shimon Perez was right - there is no chance of peace between the Palestinians and the Israelis - at least not until the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ, returns to the earth.
