PA President Mahmoud Abbas at a news conference following a closed door meeting with Jordanian King Abdullah urged the US to make good on its promises to work for a Middle East peace settlement by the end of the year warning that if there is no peace deal in 2008, there will never be a peace deal between the Israelis and the Palestinians.
Israeli PM Ehud Olmert says the end of 2008 may not be a feasible deadline for a peace deal with the Palestinians even though the Israelis are making all effort to conclude all difficulties and resolve outstanding disputes to resolve outstanding disputes to be able to reach an agreement in 2008.
Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News
PA President Mahmoud Abbas' statement that if there is no peace deal with the Israelis in 2008, then there will never be a peace deal is actually right in line with Bible prophecy.
US president after US president and other world leaders as well have spent countless hours working for a peace agreement in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. US President George Bush's bold statement that there could be a peace deal in 2008 before he leaves office is not being echoed by even the leaders of the two parties in the conflict, Israel and the Palestinians, and the divide seems to be getting wider and wider each day.
The ancient Jewish prophets wrote at least 2,500 years before the fact and revealed the End Times scenario for these two people groups. Malachi said that the Edomites, Palestinians today, would return and rebuild, Malachi 2:4. Ezekiel wrote that the Palestinians would rise up and kill the Jews and take their God-given land, Ezekiel 35:5, 10. Obadiah said that when the Messiah, Jesus Christ, returns the Palestinians would be completely destroyed, Obadiah 18. In Jeremiah 49:18, the prophet says that the Edomites, Palestinians today, would be like it was at Sodom and Gomorrah and they would be totally destroyed.
