Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas came together at an informal breakfast meeting hosted by Jordan's King Abdullah agreeing to meet in a more formal setting within the next two weeks.
The gathering of Nobel Laureates, meeting in the ancient city of Petra, was the setting for the meeting between Olmert and Abbas that has been delayed by the reality of difficulties caused by the Hamas-led PA who refuses to recognize Israel's right to be a nation in the Middle East. At this meeting, PM Olmert also hinted that the is ready to give up Shilo and Beit-El, two historically significant cities for the Jewish people. He will give up these two cities to the Palestinians for their new state.
Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News
A meeting between the Israelis and the Palestinians in the ancient city of Petra and a statement of the withdrawal from Shilo and Beit-El, has an interesting prophetic significance for both peoples, that is according to Bible prophecy. Even though it was an informal breakfast meeting in the ancient city of Petra, it resulted in two significant elements to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
PM Olmert, for the first time, eluded to the fact that he is ready to give up to the Palestinians the historic cities of Shilo and Beit-El. Petra was the original headquarters for Esau and his descendants some 4,000 years ago, that's Genesis 36. Bible prophecy reveals that Esau's descendants of yesterday are the Palestinian people of today.
The descendants of Esau's twin brother, Jacob, are the Jewish people of today. Ezekiel, the ancient Jewish prophet, also wrote in Ezekiel 37:15-23 that there will be two Jewish states in the Last Days in the Middle East. And Ehud Olmert's giving up of Shilo and Beit-El to the Palestinians seems to be setting the stage for the establishment of a second Jewish state.
PM Olmert's meeting with Palestinian Authority President Abbas in Petra does indeed set the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.
