Israeli President Shimon Peres has gathered together in Jerusalem world leaders, past and present, for the 60th anniversary of the founding of the modern-day state of Israel even as Iranian President Ahmadinejad says that Israel is dying and that the 60th anniversary celebrations are an attempt to prevent its annihilation.
Iran does not recognize Israel and Ahmadinejad claims that the nations in the Middle East hate this sinister, fabricated, Zionist regime and will destroy it if the smallest opportunity is given to them. President Bush, the keynote speaker at the Facing Tomorrow Conference in Jerusalem, said the US will stand by Israel and the former Secretary of State, Henry Kissinger, said if something is not done about Iran, there will be a multinational proliferation of nuclear weapons with catastrophic potential.

The central focus of the 60th anniversary celebration of Israel has a dramatic significance prophetically.
With world leaders gathering in Jerusalem to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the modern-day Jewish state Israel, there seems to be a dual focus for the distinguished guests attending the celebration as well as those watching from afar. One focus is the miracle of a people, the Jewish people, being gathered from the four corners of the Earth where they had been scattered for 2,000 years and becoming a nation in the land of their forefathers. This has never happened before in the history of the world. The other focus is the radical rhetoric coming from Iran's President Ahmadinejad claiming that the nations of the Middle East hate the Jewish state and will soon annihilate them and no celebration can stop that from happening.
Bible prophecy is plain on both of these issues. The Jewish state will appear in the Last Days, according to Ezekiel 34, 36, 37. On the issue of the Middle East nations moving to annihilate Israel, Ezekiel 38, Daniel 11 and Psalm 83 do indeed name all the Middle East states that will come to annihilate the Jewish state of Israel.
