With Egyptian voters approving in a national referendum, the Islamist constitution proposed by President Morsi, the Egyptian president signed into law the Islamist constitution that many believe will set the stage for an Islamic republic similar to the one in Iran.

The Egyptians approved the text with an overwhelming 63.8 percent of the vote paving the way for the end of political turmoil and focusing on Egypt's fragile economy.

This win gives the Muslim Brotherhood their third straight electoral victory since Hosni Mubarak was toppled in 2011 and opens the way to setup the Islamic republic under shariah, the Islamic law in the Arab world's most populated nation.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

A third electoral victory for the Islamists in Egypt sets the stage for the end of times scenario that is found in Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.

With the fall of Hosni Mubarak in 2011 after holding the office of president of Egypt for 32 years, the Muslim Brotherhood has solidified its position as the ruling party in the Egyptian government. As two-thirds of Egypt's voters approved the Islamist constitution in a national referendum, the president then signed into law a constitution that sets the stage for an Islamic republic to be installed in the largest Arab country in the Middle East. This political event then sets the stage for the prophetic events foretold in Bible prophecy to be fulfilled in the near future.

Egyptian President Morsi has advocated in the past the annulment of the Israeli-Egyptian peace treaty that has been in place for over 30 years howbeit this Camp David Accord was a fragile peace treaty that has never been normalized. The rise of terrorism in the Sinai and the partnership between the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas raises the viable possibility of a major war breaking out between Egypt and Israel which was foretold in the prophecy of Daniel 11:40-43. Referred to as the King of the South in this passage it reveals the part Egypt will play as the Middle Eastern nations rise up to destroy the Jewish state of Israel.

Egypt will be among the first three nations to attack Israel at the beginning of the Tribulation Period, Daniel 11:40.
