As Iraq teeters on the edge of civil war with the former British ambassador of Iraq saying that a low-level civil war was already taking place, if it explodes into a full-fledged civil war there could be a 'new Saddam Hussein' coming to power to take control of the country, that according to Andrew Krepinevich, a Pentagon advisor and head of a military think tank.
Zalmay Khalilzad, who is the US ambassador to Iraq, has been working almost around the clock since the bombing of a Shiite shrine to head off a civil war and urging Iraqi leaders that everything that needs to be done, must be done to avoid a civil war. Iraq's minister of defense said that if a civil war breaks out, it will never end and will extend into the entire Middle Eastern region.

That scenario is actually a page out of Bible prophecy, a prophecy from of the book of Revelation that says the Antichrist will come into Iraq at the midway point of the seven-year Tribulation Period, and setup a world-wide, economic, political, governmental system; that's found in Revelation 18 with input from Jeremiah 50 and 51 and Isaiah 13 and 14. This strongman, the Antichrist, will operate out of Iraq, Babylon in Bible terminology, until just before the Messiah, Jesus Christ, comes back to the earth; that's found in Revelation 16:17-20.
