The EU Presidency is calling for a Europe-wide EU Constitution referendum

The head of the outgoing Austrian EU Presidency, chancellor Wolfgang Schussel, believes a pan-European referendum could be the way to revive the stranded EU constitution, a referendum that would take place simultaneously in all the EU states.

The Austrian chancellor said that such a proposal would need to come from the two countries that have already rejected the charter in public polls, that would be France and the Netherlands. EU leaders gathered in Brussels recently to access the political impact of the delay in confirming the EU constitution one year after the two negative votes from France and the Netherlands.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

The creative suggestion of having a Europe-wide referendum on the EU constitution is a precursor to the fulfillment of Bible prophecy on this issue. Most Europeans believe that the hopes for the United States of Europe had been dashed a year ago when the people of France and the Netherlands rejected the EU constitution.

Now, a year later, the Austrian chancellor's idea of a pan-Europe referendum on the confirmation of the EU constitution would bring together the 25 present member states of the EU and form a major political, economic, and military power in our world today.

The scenario that I just described is in essence exactly what Bible prophecy calls for in the Last Days. The ancient Jewish prophet Daniel wrote some 2,500 years ago about the revival of the Roman Empire, an Empire that is to be powerful politically, economically, and militarily; that can be found in Daniel 7:4-26.

The efforts by the European leaders to confirm the constitution and a possible pan-Europe referendum is indeed a precursor to the fulfillment of Bible prophecy.
