Israel's PM wants to give up a great deal of Israeli territory to the Palestinians for peace

In a major policy address at the grave site of David Ben-Gurion, Israel's first Prime Minister (PM), Israeli PM Ehud Olmert extended a hand of peace to the Palestinians, a far-reaching vision for peace reaffirming that Israel would be willing to withdraw from a great deal of territory in return for a true peace.

The Israeli PM said that within this framework the Palestinians could establish an independent viable state and have sovereignty over recognized borders.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

Israeli PM Ehud Olmert's offer of a true peace to the Palestinians with their own independent state is an offer that may be a non-starter in light of biblical prophecy.

In a dramatic fashion, Israeli PM Olmert gave a major policy speech with an outstretched hand that contained a far-reaching vision for peace with the Palestinians. In exchange for a true peace and the recognition that Israel has a right to be a nation in the Middle East, PM Olmert stated that Israel would give the Palestinians an independent state and to do so the Jewish state would give up much territory including the Jewish settlements.

This offer of peace to the Palestinians by PM Olmert has many pitfalls not only politically, but prophetically. Prophetically, the Bible in a number of passages reveals that a true peace between the Jews and the Palestinians will not happen, those passages include Ezekiel 35, Jeremiah 49, and Malachi 1. In fact, the prophetic book of Obadiah says that in the final analysis, the Jews will completely destroy the Palestinians, that's Obadiah 17-18. Olmert's offer to give up the Jewish settlements in exchange for this peace will trigger a second Jewish state in the area of the Jewish settlements, that's found in Ezekiel 37:15-23. In fact, all of these prophetic passages speak of the Palestinians, the biblical Edomites, killing the Jewish people and taking their land.

PM Olmert's offer of concessions to the Palestinians for a true peace will ultimately fail.
