Today on the Jewish calendar is Tisha B'Av, the ninth day of the Jewish month of Av, the day in 586 BC when Nebuchadnezzar and his mighty Babylonian army entered the city of Jerusalem and destroyed the temple that King Solomon had built.
This same day on the Jewish calendar but over 650 years later on the ninth day of the Jewish month of Av, Tisha B'Av in 70AD, General Titus and the Roman army entered the city of Jerusalem and destroyed what was called Herod's temple, the second Jewish temple. The Jewish people surrounded the Temple Mount to mourn the destruction of these two previous temples by reading the book of Lamentations in the Old Testament and praying for the temple to be rebuilt in the near future.

As Jews from around the world gather in Jerusalem to mourn the destruction of the first and second temples, they are looking for the rebuilding of the third temple which could be built very soon according to Bible prophecy.
In Jerusalem on Tisha' B'Av, Jews from around the world gather to mourn the destruction of the previous two temples that were destroyed on the same day of the calendar over 650 years apart, but that morning does have an aspect of hope in it. These Jewish worshipers will read the book of Lamentations as they gather at the seven gates that lead onto the Temple Mount, and as they read, they pray for the next temple to be built by next year on Tisha' B'Av.
The possibility that there could be a Jewish temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem is more a probability because of the preparations that have been made for that next temple to be built. The temple could be up and operating in about six months and that is due to every preparation being completed and the Jews waiting for the spot where the temple will stand to be cleared, i.e. the Dome of the Rock being removed from the Temple Mount.The priests are trained and ready to begin the temple functions and all of the implements have been made to operate the temple, that includes the several hundreds of harps that will be used when the temple is standing.
All that needs to be done to erect and operate a Jewish temple in Jerusalem has been done, which is setting the stage for a temple to be in Jerusalem come next Tisha B'Av, which will actually be a fulfillment of Bible prophecy.
