The US Warns Iran to Stop Threats

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said that the United States has increased its security in the Middle East and Iran should not be "confused" about US capabilities. She added that the United States will not hesitate to defend its interests and the interests of its allies in the region.

Over a two-day period, Iran has test fired missiles that have a range that could reach targets in Israel and US naval vessels in the Persia Gulf and the Mediterranean. This is a point of concern for Washington and Jerusalem.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

The threat posed by recent Iranian military exercises and long-range missile testing may be saber-rattling, but it is also setting the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.

Iranian President Ahmadinejad and his government keep ratcheting up the threat of war in the Middle East, as evidenced by the recent military activity. The efforts by the EU, the UN, and the US to bring a stop to the development of nuclear weapons by Iran seem to be falling short of the mark. The potential for war in the region seems to increase almost hour by hour.

The ancient Jewish prophets wrote some 2,500 years ago of this exact scenario unfolding in the Last Days. Ezekiel listed the nations that would attack Israel, and Iran is one of those major players. The coalition of nations that will come against the Jewish state are listed in Ezekiel 38, Daniel 11, and Psalm 83. All of these nations today are Islamic. Joel 2 reveals that a mighty militia will come to destroy Israel. It will be the largest military force ever formed in history, and the Islamic world could provide the troops for that force at any time.

With Iran at the forefront of preparing to destroy Israel, the fulfillment of Bible prophecy seems to be closer at hand than ever before.
