At the General Assembly hall in the UN headquarters in New York City, all the UN member states pause one time a year on January 27th to remember victims of the Holocaust during WWII and in an effort to reject any denial of the Holocaust as an historical event, and at the same time condemn without reservation all manifestations of religious intolerance wherever they occur.
The UN chose January 27th, the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz Death Camp as an annual international day of commemoration to honor the victims of the Holocaust and have urged their member states to instill the memory of the tragedy in future generations to prevent genocide from occurring again.
Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News
Even though the UN marks Holocaust Remembrance Day to say to the world "never again", the prophetic Word of God says the worst Holocaust for the Jewish people is yet to come, according to Bible prophecy.
For over sixty years, the Jewish state of Israel has been setting aside one day a year to honor and remember the victims of the Holocaust, an historic event that has touched every Jewish person on earth. Several years ago, the UN decided to join the chorus of "never again" and they proclaimed January 27th every year as the international day of commemoration in honor of the victims of the Holocaust. The UN not only holds a special event at the General Assembly Hall in New York City, but they have put forth effort to have all member states to educate their nation of the terrible time of the Holocaust.
Though the UN resolution for the Holocaust Remembrance Day rejects another Holocaust and says "never again", Bible prophecy reveals that there will be another Holocaust worst than the last. Zechariah 13:8 says that during a seven year period of time of judgment on the earth in the future, two out of every three Jews will be killed. Revelation 12 reveals that Satanic powers will go forth to slaughter the Jewish people around the world. Only the return of the Jewish Messiah will stop the complete annihilation of the Jewish people.
Holocaust Remembrance Day is a reminder of the past and the terrible future.
