Russian PM Vladimir Putin traveled to Beijing, China to sign a major trade agreement with his Chinese counterpart that will supply China with nearly 2.5 trillion cubic feet of gas per year via two pipelines originating in Siberia.
China has one of the fastest growing economies in the world and has been searching far and wide for new sources of energy with a focus on Russia as a potential supplier of large amounts of natural gas.
There are few details to the gas trade agreement or other economic deals reached between the two nations, but Vladimir Putin said the bi-lateral economic cooperation has withstood the test of global financial crisis.

With the passing of time, these two world powers have grown closer together in economic, political and military issues of the day. Now, with the signing of a gas trade agreement, Russia will supply China with the much needed energy source that is essential for China to keep its ever expanding growth on track.
What is so interesting in this report for the student of Bible prophecy is that both Russia and China have a major role in the last days scenario that is found in Bible prophecy. Russia at the beginning of the seven year Tribulation and China at the end of this time of testing. Ezekiel 38:2 mentions Magog as the leader of a coalition of nations that will align themselves against Israel at the beginning of the Tribulation. Magog is modern-day Russia. Revelation 16:12 mentions the "Kings of the East" making their way into Israel at the end of the Tribulation Period and China is the leader today of the nations of the far East.
As a student of Bible prophecy, I keep a close watch on China and Russia and this latest gas trade deal between these two nations is indeed evidence that Bible prophecy will be fulfilled.
