The Arch of Titus in Rome, Italy is a monument to the fulfillment of Bible prophecy but it is also tangible evidence that yet to be fulfilled Bible prophecy will be fulfilled.
The Chief of Staff of the IDF, General Gabi Ashkenazi, stood on last Tisha B'Av at the Arch of Titus in Rome and said that the Jewish people, Israel, is alive and ready to defend itself against another tragedy like the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple in 70AD which the Arch commemorates and has for over 1900 years. When General Titus led the Roman army to destroy the Jewish Temple, devastate the city of Jerusalem, and disperse the Jews to the four corners of the earth, this Roman leader was actually fulfilling Bible prophecy.
Some 40 years earlier in 30AD, Jesus in His Olivet Discourse told His disciples that the Temple would be destroyed. General Titus fulfilled the Lord's prophecy and the Arch of Titus is the monument to the fulfillment of this prophecy. However, Jesus also said in that very profound prophecy message that there would be signs to alert the Jews of a time of real judgment on the Jewish people in a time yet future and it would appear just before the judgment began.
Jesus said there would be deception and signs, wonders, and miracles prevalent in our world, Matthew 24:4, 5, 11, 24. Jesus also said wars and rumors of wars would prevail, Matthew 24:6-7 and there would also be preparations to rebuild the Jewish Temple, Matthew 24:15.
General Ashkenazi at the Arch of Titus in Rome speaks to the fulfillment of Bible prophecy, but also to additional Bible prophecy that will be fulfilled in the future.
