Tens of thousands gathered recently at the Western Wall for the annual priestly blessings given to the Jewish worshipers by members of the Kohanim, the priestly family, as they did some 2000 years ago when the Jewish temple was there on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. The priestly blessing is given by the priest to the Jewish worshipers 3 times a year on the Jewish feast days of Passover, Pentecost, and Tabernacles.
The priestly blessing began in modern times at the end of the Six Day War in 1967 with the reunification of the city of Jerusalem.
Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News
The giving of the priestly blessing to tens of thousands of Jewish worshipers at the Western Wall in Jerusalem is a precursor to the prophetic scenario that can be found in Bible prophecy for the end of times.
On 3 of the Jewish feast days, Passover, Pentecost, and Tabernacles, tens of thousands of Jews gather at the Western Wall in Jerusalem to receive the priestly blessing. Recently, over 70,000 Jewish worshipers did receive the priestly blessing from the Kohanim, the priestly family, which is done on an annual basis.
The Lord commanded Moses to have Aaron, the high priest, to have all of the priests give the priestly blessing on the people of Israel yearly in the Biblical book of Numbers (Numbers 6:22 - 27). This practice has been handed down through the centuries till today. Jews gather at the Western Wall to first of all pray for the temple to be rebuilt and the receive the priestly blessing. The prayer of the Jewish worshipers will be answered one day in the near future when the Messiah returns to the earth and rebuilds His temple (Zechariah 1:16 and 6:12). That return of Messiah will take place after a 7 year time of judgment, the time of Jacob's Trouble.
However, there will be a temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem before the Messiah comes and that temple will be there during the 7 year Tribulation period. The ancient Jewish prophet Daniel wrote of that temple in Daniel 9:27. Jesus Christ confirmed that there would be a temple on the Temple Mount during the Tribulation period (Matthew 24:15). The apostle Paul wrote of that temple (II Thessalonians 2:4) and John the Revelator was told to measure the spot for that temple (Revelation 11:1).
Preparations are ready for that next temple. Bible prophecy will be fulfilled.
