Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News
The late Israeli PM Yitzhak Shamir played a key role in the formation of the present day state of Israel which was a fulfillment of Bible prophecy but also is setting the stage for additional prophecy to be fulfilled in the future.
With the death of Israel's seventh PM, Yitzhak Shamir, the era of Israel's founding fathers is about to draw to an end. A Polish Jew who immigrated to Israel in 1935, he became a freedom fighter for the pre-state struggle to get out from under the occupation of Great Britain. Shamir served in the Mossad, Israel's intelligence agency, before entering the political arena and finally becoming the PM of his beloved Jewish state. Yitzhak Shamir loved the land of Israel and he believed all of the land had been given to the Jewish people by God, even the very controversial Jewish settlements in Judea and Samaria.
In Shamir's service to Israel, he helped the world to see how God could gather the Jewish people from all over the world, bring them into their land, the land of their forefathers, and make a modern day state of these regathered Jews.
The ancient Jewish prophet Ezekiel foretold that this would indeed happen when he prewrote history in Ezekiel 37, the prophecy of the dry bones. In verse 7, the bones come together, that is the regathering of the Jewish people to Israel. Ezekiel 37:8 says the flesh covered these bones and that is the restoration of a Jewish state. Ezekiel 34 reveals that the Lord said 18 times that He would regather and restore the Jewish people. Ezekiel 36:22 tells us that God did all of this for His holy namesake.
The memory of Yitzhak Shamir does indeed remind us that Bible prophecy will be fulfilled.
