JD: What do you think David, would you agree with me that being thankful is one of the most important ways that we can worship the Lord today?
DJ: Absolutely, people talk a lot about worship but I’m not sure everybody has a good, clear, concise definition of what that is. The way I define worship is the appropriate response of God’s people to who He is and what He has done. And when we understand who God is and what He has done that produces a spirit of Thanksgiving, and so, that Thanksgiving that we show to God is the appropriate response to who He is and what He’s done, and that is the heart of worship.
JD: And I think about that verse over there in I Thessalonians 5 where it says, give thanks in all things for this is the will of God and Christ Jesus concerning you.
DJ: You’re absolutely right; you know people talk about wanting to know the will of God, finding the will of God. If we spend our time focusing on what we know is the will of God and His word everything else about the unrevealed will of God takes itself. And certainly if you want to know what the will of God is give thanks in everything and you are going a long way to doing exactly what the Lord would want you to do and living the life the Lord would want you to live.
JD: Of course Prophecy Today is a prophecy focused ministry, a radio broadcast. And I would have to bring to our attention before we conclude our discussion, II Timothy 3, signs of the times for the church; I’ll be speaking on that in a moment.
But one of those very important signs is unthankfulness and I
think we need to think that through because most everything else listed there
in II Timothy, Chapter 3, I think would be a byproduct of unthankfulness. How about
that?
DJ: Well that’s right, and you know if I remember that passage
correctly I think perhaps one of the first things it says, it says that people
will be lovers of themselves. That’s characteristics of the last days and so if
you’re loving yourself and you’re focusing upon yourself rather than on others and
upon the Lord, then you’re not going to have a thankful sprit and so I think
this characteristic of being lovers of ourselves is actually totally contrary
to having a sprit of Thanksgiving.
JD: David James with important thoughts about unthankfulness as
a sign of the End Times. We report this information because it is setting the
stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.
Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News
God’s Word gives the church signs of the End Times.
The apostle Paul wrote to the church that there would be perilous times that’s II Timothy 3; these would be signs of the End Times. In
verse 2 Paul says in the last days unthankfulness is a major sign for the church.
We are in the last days and the ever-expanding attitude of
unthankfulness does describe our day, the last days.
