JD: David what would you say is the single most important necessary step in arriving at a Biblical worldview?
DJ: You know its not all that complicated. I think it actually comes back to one of the things that you and I so frequently emphasize and that is to have a Biblical method of interpretation that we use what we would call a literal grammatical historical hermeneutic. And what we mean by that is the Bible is objective truth we just read the Bible normally and except as what God has given us.
God has revealed everything that we need to know to get from
one end of our life to the other from birth to death in a way that is pleasing
to him and most importantly to have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus
Christ which involves both forgiven sin and eternal life.
JD: Well that said how would you lay out the overall process of
developing a Biblical worldview?
DJ: Studying the Bible, using those principles that we’re
talking about with the Biblical method of interpretation. I also think we all
need to be a part of a good Bible teaching Bible believing church that is
involved in discipleship making that is involved in evangelism. We become like
the people that we spend the most time with. So, if you want to be a good Bible
teacher you spend time with other Bible teachers. If you want to be a good student
of the Bible you want to spend your time and have the majority of your friends those
people who are committed to those same principles that you are. And what we do
is learn from one another. Iron sharpens iron.
So, as we spend time in the word of God and spend time with
other believers who are committed to the word of God and we sit under the
teaching of the word of God that will inevitable shape our thinking and our
worldview and it will put us in the position to be conformed to the image of
Christ and live a life that is pleasing to him. That will be affected like we
said in our families, in our jobs, in our career choices, the schools we go to,
the church we chose to be a member of and our involvement in the work of God
around the world.
JD: David James with what is a Biblical worldview and how
Christians can get that worldview.
We report this information because it is setting the stage
for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.
David James put in prospective what a Biblical worldview is
and how Christians can and must go about arriving at that Biblical worldview and
may I add with a prophetic prospective.
God’s word must be studied from Genesis to Revelation to get
the proper and thorough worldview. You need this Biblical worldview in order to
understand what our world is doing today and why these things are happening as
they are. God does have a plan for the future which is laid out in Bible
prophecy. We must study God’s word.
