Israel and Jordan are submitting a request to the World Bank for funds to carry out a feasibility study for a canal between the Red Sea and the Dead Sea, a canal that would bring sea water to the Dead Sea to replenish the enormous evaporation from the lowest body of water on the earth.
Israel and Jordan have a common interest in water and water technology, that according to Israel's Minister of National Infrastructure who also said that the Dead Sea's water level has been dropping at an alarming rate each year over the past twenty years. The two Middle Eastern nations believe that there must be a solution. In fact, immediate steps must be taken to relieve the situation of the evaporation of the mineral rich water of the Dead Sea.
Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News
The joint Red Sea-Dead Sea Project between Israel and Jordan has an interesting prophetic significance for the Last Days, that is according to Bible prophecy. For over twenty years, the Dead Sea has been losing its water through a number of ways: one, a dam on the Jordan River in Syria, a canal in Jordan, a tributary off the Jordan River which is of course the source of water for the Dead Sea, plus the natural process of evaporation.
There are fears in both countries that if the water level dropping rate is not reversed, it could well be a major disaster. The fact that Israel and Jordan are willing to come together, plays into the End Times scenario that can be found in Bible prophecy.
Ezekiel 38 describes a coalition of nations that align themselves against Israel to try and destroy the Jewish state and take the land and all of its rich, natural resources for its own. Revenue that is being gained from the Dead Sea Works, the mineral extraction company working the Dead Sea's natural resources, is the number one source of income for the state of Israel and inviting spoil, as Ezekiel 38:12-13 reveals, will be a motivation to bring the alignment of nations against Israel.
The joint Israeli-Jordanian Red Dead Project is indeed setting the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.
