Three US diplomats, who served as US ambassadors to Israel, have written a policy paper presented to Secretary of State Rice that advises her to divide Jerusalem into two capitals: one for Israel and the other for a Palestinian state, saying that Jerusalem's future has snarled past US peace efforts.
These three former US ambassadors to Israel are part of a group of former state department and Pentagon officials who submitted a six-page policy statement to Condoleezza Rice about the division of Jerusalem and also suggested a series of peace conferences following the one the US hopes to convene next month. The policy paper also called for a just solution to refugee questions that recognize the suffering and the plight of the Palestinian refugees.
Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News
A call by US diplomats for dividing the city of Jerusalem into the capital cities of two states is setting the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.
The status of Jerusalem heads the list of problems facing the upcoming Middle East peace conference to be hosted by the US. The Palestinians are calling for at least a portion of Jerusalem to be the capital city for their future state, Palestine.
Since 1967, all Israeli governments have said Jerusalem is the undivided capital city of the Jewish state of Israel and will not be divided. However, Israeli PM Olmert's point man, Vice PM Chaim Ramon has told the PA that Israel is ready to divide Jerusalem for a solid peace agreement. Now this word from the US State Department that Jerusalem must be divided is right in line with Bible prophecy on the Jerusalem issue.
It is evident as one reads the prophecies written by the ancient Jewish prophet Zechariah, that Jerusalem will be a heavy burden as an End Time issue and the center of controversy in the Last Days, Zechariah 12:2-3. Other Jewish prophets including Daniel, Ezekiel, Jeremiah, Joel and Isaiah also reveal that Jerusalem will be the main focus in the Last Days.
This US diplomatic call to divide Jerusalem today is setting the stage for Bible prophecy focused on Jerusalem for the future to be fulfilled.
