Dr. Bob Jones III, the Chancellor of the fundamentalist university that bears his name, is looking past his religious differences with Governor Mitt Romney and endorsing the Mormon leader for the Republican nomination for President.
Jones said that his decision was all about Hillary Clinton, saying that Romney's religion whose Mormon doctrine, a doctrine that Jones completely opposes, but what was the alternative, he said "Hilary's lack of religion or an erroneous religion?"
Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News
The endorsement of a Mormon political leader by a fundamentalist Christian leader draws attention to the prophetic significance of human government in the Last Days.
As Mitt Romney, the former Governor of Massachusetts, has campaigned for the Republican party nomination for President, he has been confronted on the campaign trail because of his religious background, that of being a very faithful Mormon. This issue has surfaced due to the concerns of the "religious right" in the body politic of America about what many call a religious cult and not truly a part of the true Biblical Christian faith. With the endorsement of Governor Romney by one of the long-time fundamentalist Christian leaders, Bob Jones III, the debate over Romney's religious beliefs has risen to a new high. Many people say, don't discuss religion and politics; however, in a discussion about the End Times, both religion and politics play key roles in the events that will unfold prophetically.
Revelation 17 speaks of a one-world false religion that will control the world for the first three and a half years of the Tribulation Period. In fact, Revelation 17:17 tells us that politics and politicians play a major role during the End Times as well. Revelation 18 is the prophecy of a one-world, economic, governmental, political system that will be in place for the days leading up to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
In the Last Days, politics and religion will play a key role.
