The Middle East nation of Iran has stepped up its crackdown on Christians

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard has stepped up its campaign on Christians in its nation and Iranian Christians are in a dire situation concerned that this militant Muslim army will close down their churches and even imprison or kill the Christians living in this Islamic republic.

In Iran, the death penalty is imposed on those who convert from Islam to Christianity and those who embrace Christianity are targeted for persecution and even death.

The crackdown on Christians in Iran, and in fact across the entire Middle East, is only the tip of the iceberg as it relates to believers in Christ being persecuted in the last days according to Bible prophecy.

There have been a number of reports coming out of the Middle East that there has been an increase in the attacks on churches and Christians in this region of the world. A high ranking Muslim cleric in Saudi Arabia recently issued a fatwah calling for Muslims to attack all churches, kill Christians and in fact rid the Middle East of Christianity. Now, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, the militia of the supreme council of Iran, has increased their persecution of Iranian Christians and the closing down of churches in Iran.

The biblical book of Revelation written by the Apostle John records prophecies of the martyrdom of believers in Christ during the seven years of great judgment on the earth called the Tribulation. When Satan and his evil angels are thrown out of Heaven, Revelation 12, the Devil will try to eliminate all of those who stand for Jesus Christ. At the end of the Tribulation, to enter the Kingdom and rule and reign with Jesus Christ, Revelation 20:4. In addition, Jews who believe in Jesus Christ will be the focus of Satanic persecution as well during that period of time referred to as the Time of Jacob's Trouble, Revelation 12:13-17.

Iranian persecution of Christians is indeed setting the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.

The very controversial Iranian President Ahmadinejad said recently that the Jewish state of Israel has no roots in the history of the Middle East and at the same time, he said that Iran has been around for thousands of years but Israel has existed for only 60 or 70 years.

The Iranian president said his nation does not take seriously the threats of the Zionists and that his country has all the defensive means at their disposal to defend themselves from an Israeli preemptive strike on Iran's nuclear program.

The radical statement by Iranian president Ahmadinejad that Israel has no roots in the Middle East contradicts biblical history and the biblical scenario for the end of times.

In a recent interview, Iranian President Ahmadinejad was quoted as saying that Iran has been in the Middle East for thousands of years which is true according to ancient and biblical history. Ahmadinejad was historically incorrect however when he said the Jewish state of Israel and the Jewish people have no historical roots in the Middle East. The ancient historic records do prove that today's Iran, biblical Persia, does date back thousands of years to the time of the Persian empire 2500 years ago. However, these same records are proof that the Jewish people were a part of that world as well.

The ancient Persian leader Cyrus is the world leader that allowed the Jews, 50000 of them, to return to Jerusalem to rebuild their Temple, Ezra 1. In fact, Isaiah one of the ancient Jewish prophets, foretold that a Persian leader named Cyrus would come to power and allow the Jewish people to return to their homeland so they would be able to rebuild their Temple, Isaiah 44:28, 45:1. The Jewish people date back to the time of Abraham, the father of the Jewish people and the establishment of Jews in the land known as Israel today, Genesis 15. Prophetically, Ezekiel 38:5 does mention Persia, modern day Iran, as one of the nations that will rise up in the last days to try to destroy the Jewish nation of Israel and that scenario is about to be played out today.

You can forget what Ahmadinejad says but do remember Bible prophecy will be fulfilled.

A leading rabbi in Jerusalem believes the Temple will be rebuilt in his lifetime

In a documentary produced by my son, Jim Jr., a leading rabbi in Jerusalem says that he believes the next Jewish temple will be rebuilt on the Temple Mount in his lifetime and he says everything is ready to build that temple today. Rabbi Nachman Kahane, the rabbi who has guided many Jewish students of the Scriptures on the subject of the temple has been the main source of serious study and preparations to build the Jewish temple basically because that is what the Bible calls for from the religious Jews.

In Rabbi Kahane's Yeshiva, which is a place of learning for Jewish young men, the rabbi trained all the leaders of this effort to rebuild the temple in Jerusalem and it was his students that started the Temple Institute who has accumulated all the implements for the next temple and train the men to operate that temple.

All the preparations have been made to rebuild the next Jewish temple in Jerusalem which is in essence a page out of Bible prophecy for the end of times. Twenty years ago I sat with Rabbi Nachman Kahane as he was beginning his quest to rebuild the Jewish temple in Jerusalem on the Temple Mount. Now twenty years later the rabbi believes that the temple will indeed be rebuilt in his lifetime. That is a quote from the rabbi on a documentary released on the subject that shows the rabbi plus many others who also agree that the temple could be standing in Jerusalem in the very near future.

Rabbi Yehuda Glick, the former head of the Temple Institute, says even the priestly garments are ready and the temple will stand in full operation very soon. Rabbi Chaim Richman, who is the leading authority on the red heifer, says the temple will be built at the spot of the original site of the Garden of Eden which he says is the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. Rabbi Yoel Keren says that there will be a Jewish temple in Jerusalem that follows the details in Ezekiel 40-46 but first the Jewish people will build a less extravagant temple as they did when the Second Temple was rebuilt 2500 years ago. The priests have been trained, the implements made to operate the temple, even the Menorah, the seven branched candelabra, and there are ten stringed harps for the Levites to play as called for by King David in I Chronicles 23:5.

With all preparations made for the next temple, Bible prophecy is about to be fulfilled.

The United Nations calls on the world on Holocaust Remembrance Day to remember the horrific death of 6 million Jews

The United Nations in a resolution passed in 2005 called for world leaders to lead their nations in remembering the horrific slaughter of 6 million Jews throughout Europe by Adolf Hitler and his Nazi regime during World War II and to do this, January 27 of every year, the International Holocaust Remembrance Day.  The Jews in Israel have an annual day each Spring when the whole nation will stop and stand at attention during the 2 minute nationwide sounding of a siren, a time when the whole Jewish nation honors their loved ones who died at the hands of a wicked leader. 

The theme of the Jewish survivors of the World War II Holocaust and all Israeli Jews comes from a nation who does honor their dead but at the same time they say never again will a dastardly slaughter of Jews take place.

International Holocaust Remembrance Day looks back at a horrific time in history but at the same time looks forward to a worse time yet to come for the Jewish people that is according to Bible prophecy.

The United Nations resolution in 2005 calling for an International Holocaust Remembrance Day was passed so that the world would stop and remember the slaughter of 6 million people who were killed because the were guilty of one thing - they were Jewish.  The Jewish people today wonder why the world can stand by and watch as nations and radical Islamic terror organizations call for the elimination of the Jewish state of Israel and in fact all Jewish people. 

Holocaust deniers can be found all around the world spouting out their lies and hatred.  In fact, it is in this type of a world that history will repeat itself and this time will be worse than during World War II under Adolf Hitler's Nazi regime.  The ancient Jewish prophet Zechariah prewrote history 2500 years ago of a time when 2 out of every 3 Jews will be killed (Zechariah 13:8).  During the Holocaust of World War II one third of 18 million Jews alive at that time were killed and that's the number 6 million Jews.  Satanic forces according to Revelation 12:7-17 will be used to kill these Jews so that God is unable to keep His promises to His chosen people. 

God however does not fail.  He will protect His people from total annihilation.  Bible prophecy will be fulfilled. 

The White House is calling for resumption of the Israeli-Palestinian peace talks

The White House has renewed its call for the resumption of the long stalled Israeli-Palestinian peace talks in light of another four years for the Obama administration and light of the new complexion and makeup of the Israeli government.

Israel is willing to resume the peace talks but only with no preconditions and the Palestinians want Jerusalem for its capital, the Palestinian refugees having a right of return, and no Jewish settlements, now these preconditions are a no starter for Israel which basically means no resumption of these peace talks.

A call by the White House for the resumption of the Israeli-Palestinian peace talks is a precursor to the end of times scenario that can be found in Bible prophecy.

In his first term, US President Obama failed to advance the peace negotiations between the Israelis and the Palestinians. Israel has been willing to come back to the negotiating table but the Palestinians have refused unless they have some decisions being made before they even start the process. The Palestinians want a return to the 1967 borders, they want the right of return for Palestinian refugees, and they want Jerusalem as the capital of their state of Palestine. These preconditions are a no-starter for the Israeli government, thus these stalled Palestinian talks are dead in the water.

The ancient Jewish prophets said the Palestinians, the Edomites, descendants of Esau in biblical times, would come back to power in the last days foretells that the Palestinians will rebuild, however the Lord says the Palestinian borders will actually be the borders of wickedness. Ezekiel reveals that the people of Mount Seir, the Palestinian people today, would rise up, kill the Jews and take the land that God has given to the Jewish people, Ezekiel 35:5, 10. Obadiah foretold of a time when the Palestinians would control the holy mountain of God, the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, and these Palestinians would claim this sacred site for themselves, Obadiah 15-18. Daniel 9:27 says that indeed the Antichrist will establish a pseudo peace between the Palestinians and the Israelis.

A White House call for peace does indeed set the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.

Syrian President Bashar Assad tells an international peace envoy to Syria that he will win even if Damascus is destroyed

As the Syrian civil war continues to intensify, Bashar Assad - the defiant Syrian president - continues to hold on to power and command his military to destroy the opposition trying to overthrow the Syrian government.

Over 65000 Syrians have been killed in this civil war and the opposition is moving closer and closer every day to Damascus, the stronghold for the Assad regime.

Bashar Assad said recently that even if Damascus is destroyed, he as president of Syria would continue to fight on and would eventually win out in the final solution.

The brash statements by Syrian President Bashar Assad that even if the opposition of his government destroys the city of Damascus that he would still win in the end which is in contradiction of Bible prophecy.

The civil war in Syria has seen over 65000 people killed as they endeavor to bring down the Assad government which is a horrific price to bring down a man whose family has controlled Syria for over fifty years. With each and every day of fighting, the opposition forces draw closer and closer to Assad's stronghold in Damascus and these opposition forces are threatening to destroy the city of Damascus. Defiantly, Bashar Assad said recently that even if Damascus is destroyed, he would prevail and he would win the civil war. Assad's statement that he would win in the long run even if Damascus is destroyed is a contradiction to political wisdom and to the prophetic word.

The ancient Jewish prophet Isaiah wrote 2500 years ago that Damascus would be destroyed. The phrase in Isaiah 17, "in that day" indicates that the prophecy will be fulfilled in the last days, a period of time very close at hand. When you notice Daniel 11:40 where it mentions the King of the North, you can conclude from Daniel 11:5-20 that the King of the North is modern day Syria. Daniel 11:40 says at the time of the end, and that's our day, Syria will indeed be destroyed. Damascus is the major city of Syria and it could very well be destroyed by the Syrian opposition forces who want Assad out of power.

Politically, it looks as if Damascus is about to be destroyed, prophetically however it is absolute, Damascus will be destroyed.

The people of Israel have re-elected PM Netanyahu

With the highest voter turnout since 1999, the body politic of Israel has elected a Knesset, the Israeli legislature, and this body of Knesset members, 120 of them will meet in the days ahead to re-elect PM Netanyahu as the PM to lead the Jewish state for the next four years.

The new Knesset will have a right-wing leaning body who will form the legislature to return Netanyahu to power, however the left-wing of the Knesset will be far stronger than the last Knesset.

 Netanyahu will have a tougher time leading the Israeli government at a time in history that presents many challenges for Israel like Syria, Egypt and their number one threat, a nuclear-powered Iran with a nuclear WMD and a delivery system that can strike any target in Israel.

The results are in, it indicates that Israeli PM Netanyahu has been re-elected for another four year term which actually sets the stage for the new Israeli government to face an end of times scenario that can be found in Bible prophecy.

Though with less of a power base than his last four years as PM of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu has been re-elected to govern the Jewish state. There are a number of issues that the new Israeli government will have to deal with including the chemical WMD threat from the civil war going on in Syria. The continuation of the peace agreement between Israel and the Muslim Brotherhood led Egyptian administration hangs in the balance as well. Israel's number one threat, a nuclear-powered Iran, has not gone away and must be dealt with in the very near future. This agenda for the newly elected Israeli government actually sounds like a page out of Bible prophecy.

Daniel 11:40 talks about the King of the North which is modern day Syria, also in Daniel 11:40-43, it refers to the King of the South which is actually Egypt today. The prophetic scenario is that these two nations, Syria and Egypt, are the first two nations to attack the Jewish state early on in the seven year Tribulation Period. The rest of the coalition of this alignment of nations will join the attack on Israel, including Iran which is the Persia mentioned in Ezekiel 38:5. These prophecies seem very close to being fulfilled as we observe the events going on in the Middle East today.

Israel's newly elected government could well see these Bible prophecies fulfilled in the very near future.

National elections in the Jewish state of Israel are evidence that Bible prophecy has been fulfilled

In the national elections in Israel, the nation elects the legislature called the Knesset, made up of 120 members, which will be a cross-section of Jews and Arabs from the state of Israel, they will form a coalition government that will then elect a PM to govern for the next four years.

National elections in Israel are a unique experience at the least and they have great significance in how the Jewish state will survive living in a very, very tough neighborhood surrounded by 400 million Arabs and Muslims.

National elections in Israel have a  political significance and do indeed set the direction for the Jewish state for the next couple of years, but these Israeli elections are also tangible evidence that Bible prophecy has been fulfilled and will be fulfilled into the future.

National elections in Israel allows the people of the Jewish state to elect a legislative body, the Knesset, which will then in turn elect a PM. What happens is that there will be a simple majority of the Knesset, 61 members of the 120 who vote in favor of one person to be PM. After the election of the Knesset, the Israeli president appoints one of the political party leaders to work to put together a coalition government. At that time all the backroom meetings take place and the "horsetrading" begins the process of the election of a PM. The process itself along with the national election in the Jewish state of Israel is tangible evidence that Bible prophecy is being fulfilled.

Ezekiel 37:7 is a prophecy of Jews being regathered from all over the world over the last 2000 years. Ezekiel 37:8 is referring to the restoration of a Jewish state which happened and was fulfilled May 14, 1948. With the Jewish state restored and a national election for Israel's legislature and PM, the world is able to witness what God's Word said would happen when he said I will regather the Jewish people to the land of their forefathers and I will restore them to a Jewish state called Israel. These prophecies being fulfilled then give us a basis to believe that all other yet fulfilled prophecies in the Bible will be fulfilled as well.

Jews holding national elections in their land is indeed evidence that Bible prophecy will be fulfilled.

Israeli PM Netanyahu spends time studying the Bible with a group of biblical scholars

Even as the Israeli government is considering a preemptive strike on Iran's nuclear program and facing pressure from the UN, the EU and the US to dismantle their Jewish settlements in Judea and Samaria, PM Netanyahu sat in the covered courtyard of his home in Jerusalem spending time studying the Bible.

Joining the Israeli PM were sixteen rabbis, academics, Bible scholars, archaeologists, and linguists in a discussion of the book of Ruth, a passage of scripture focused on a Gentile woman in the lineage of Israel's King David.

It was reported by one Israeli journalist as both reassuring and at the same time, slightly humorous that the PM would set aside two hours of Bible study at a time when Israel faces many problems including a nuclear-powered Iran.

What some might consider a waste of time for the Israeli PM to set aside two hours for Bible study with rabbis and biblical scholars is actually a perfect example of what this world needs to do as we try to understand how current events seemingly described in the pages of Bible prophecy are about to come to pass.

It has been a tradition of Israeli PMs since the very first one, David Ben Gurion, to set aside time to study the Bible with rabbis and biblical scholars. In that tradition, PM Benjamin Netanyahu has started Bible studies even in light of the major geopolitical events that the PM must face each and every day. A study of Daniel 11, Ezekiel 38, and Psalm 83 would help the PM to recognize the alignment of nations focused on the demise of the Jewish state.

Daniel 7 is a passage that explains the Gentile world powers that will be a major problem for any Israeli PM. Revelation 18 describes for any student of the Bible, the rise of Babylon, modern day Iraq, as a major player in the last days. Daniel 9:27 in the Old Testament and Matthew 24:15 along with II Thessalonians 2:4 in the New Testament, describes a temple in Jerusalem at the time of the end.

PM Netanyahu studying the Bible will only enhance his knowledge of the last days.

The former PM of Spain has quoted Russian President Vladimir Putin as saying Israel will take care of Iran

Speaking at a recent gathering of politicos at the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, the former PM of Spain Jose Aznar said that Russian President Vladimir Putin told him not to worry about Iran because as Putin said, "Israel will take care of Iran".

Putin made these statements after Aznar entreated the Russian president not to sell the S300 anti-aircraft missiles to Iran which would allow Iran to set in place a defensive system that could deter an Israeli preemptive strike on Iran's nuclear weapons program.

The former Spanish PM also held a meeting with the Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei who told Aznar that Israel was a historic cancer condemned to disappear and that it was inevitable that there would be an open confrontation between the Jewish state and Iran.

The statement by Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei that it is inevitable, there will be a confrontation between Iran and Israel is biblically correct, but the endgame is different than the Iranian leader's claim of victory for his nation, that is according to Bible prophecy.

Two world leaders have voiced different opinions as how a confrontation between Israel and Iran militarily would come out. The supreme leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei believes in such a conflict, Iran would make Israel disappear and he was working to that end. Russian President Vladimir Putin believes that Israel would take care of the Iranian nuclear problem which Putin says justifies the sell of any nuclear technology or military hardware to Iran.

The ancient Jewish prophet Ezekiel wrote of this Iranian-Israeli conflict 2500 years ago in Ezekiel 38:5 when he mentioned Iran of today referred to in that passage as Persia in biblical times. Iran will be a member of the coalition of nations who align themselves against Israel to destroy the Jewish state, Ezekiel 38, Daniel 11, and Psalm 83. However, the endgame will be different than expected by Israel's enemies.

Ezekiel 38:18-39:6 says that the Lord will intervene and wipe out not only Iran but all of Israel's enemies.

The US and Russia may be plunging into a new Cold War

A report from a Russian expert reveals that the US and Russia are plunging into a Cold War as Washington's policies towards Moscow are the blame for the growing tensions between these two global superpowers, but Russian President Vladimir Putin's pent up anti-American sentiment may be coming to the surface as well as these tensions increase.

The so-called reset between the two nations is dead as the Obama administration has never truly cooperated with Moscow, but instead they keep pushing the same policies imposed on the Russians for the last twenty years.

This US policy of advancing NATO towards Russia's borders, building missile defense systems on Russia's borders, and interfering in Russia's internal politics have brought about these tensions that have plunged the two nations into another Cold War.

As the US and Russia move into another Cold War, the end of times scenario found in God's prophetic Word also comes much better into focus.

The battle between the US and Russia over adoption of Russian babies by American families is only the tip of the iceberg and evidence that these two superpowers are not getting along, this surfaced recently in the media. The supposed reset of relationship between the US and Russia did not work for whatever reason and now every issue gets bigger and bigger. The tensions between these two have intensified also because of the concerns that Russia is trying to regain its superpower status by making decisions that fly in the face of what is best for America. This said, any student of Bible prophecy has known for years that Russia plays a significant role in the last days.

Ezekiel 38:2 is where you find the name Magog which will be the nation mentioned as the leader of an alignment of nations that will move to destroy the Jewish state of Israel. Magog dates back 4500 years ago to right after the Flood when God gave Noah and his sons the responsibility of re-peopling the earth, Genesis 9:1. In Genesis 10:1-2, Japheth has a son named Magog who raised his family, taught them a new language, and moved to a geographical location just North of the Caspian and Black Sea, a place called Russia today, Genesis 10:3-5. Ezekiel 38:12 foretells that Russia will be the leader of many nations who will attack Israel to annihilate the Jewish state.

Russia is indeed that nation and Bible prophecy will indeed be fulfilled.

In a recent poll, most Americans say Islam is a problem in our world today, but most Americans say ignore the problem

A Rasmussen poll reveals that Americans believe Islam is in a global conflict with the West but most think that the US should ignore the Islamic world even in light of the decade long war on Islamic terrorism that the US has been waging.

Americans are split on whether Muslims see the US as an enemy as revealed by the national telephone survey taken by the Rasmussen Polling Organization.

Sixty-three percent of those polled see a conflict between their civilization and Islam, but the majority nevertheless want to take an isolationist view of Islam and believe the US should just leave the Muslim world alone.

The majority of Americans see Islam as a problem in our world, but they want to stick their heads in the sand and leave the Islamic problem alone which is actually setting the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.

It is a dangerous situation to recognize a major problem and then ignore it altogether, that is actually what the majority of Americans are doing as they know that Islam is a problem in our world today and they choose to ignore the problem. A recent Rasmussen poll of Americans reveals that 63% of the people in the US believe that Islam is a problem in our world and that Islam is in a major conflict with the nations in the West and yet Americans want to simply ignore the problem.

Bible prophecy tells us that we cannot ignore this problem. The prophet Daniel wrote of Syria and Egypt being joined by a coalition of nations to move forward to destroy the Jewish state of Israel, Daniel 11:40-43. The ancient Jewish prophet Ezekiel gave additional names that will join this coalition, nations like: Russia, Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Ethiopia, Somalia, Sudan, and Libya, Ezekiel 38. Saudi Arabia and Lebanon are also added to this list by the Psalmist in Psalm 83. The lowest common denominator with all of these nations with the exception of Russia, is that they are Islamic nations.

Islamic nations and their religion will indeed play a major role in the last days.

A radical Muslim preacher in Egypt says there will be a global caliphate, a Muslim kingdom headquartered in Jerusalem

Egypt's Islamists aim to install a global Islamic caliphate, a Muslim kingdom, that will rule the entire world from the Middle East and it will be known as the United States of the Arabs according to Safwat Higazi who recently addressed thousands of Muslim worshipers in Cairo's largest soccer stadium.

This radical Islamic cleric told the enthusiastic crowd made up of mostly members of the Muslim Brotherhood that they can now see how their dream of a worldwide Muslim kingdom will be set in place in the very near future.

Higazi told the Muslim worshipers that the capital of this caliphate, this kingdom, will not be Cairo and it will not be Mecca or Medina but the capital of the United States of the Arabs will be the city of Jerusalem.

The call for a global caliphate, a Muslim kingdom with Jerusalem as its capital city, is a page out of Bible prophecy for the end of times.

The Muslim Brotherhood has come to power politically in Egypt and now the religious element, the Islamists in Egypt are calling for a global caliphate, a worldwide Muslim kingdom to also come to power. In a recent gathering of hundreds and thousands of Muslim worshipers held in Cairo's largest soccer stadium, the Islamic cleric Safwat Higazi called for the capital city of this caliphate to be Jerusalem, not Mecca or Medina the two most sacred cities in the Islamic faith. If that end times scenario sounds familiar, it is because the Bible does lay out in its prophetic passages that the Messiah, Jesus Christ, will come back to the earth and setup His Kingdom, a kingdom that God, His Father gives Him, Daniel 7:13-14.

The Lord's Kingdom on earth will last for 1,000 years, Revelation 20:4-6 and then into eternity future, Zechariah 6:13. The Lord's Kingdom will be headquartered in Jerusalem, II Samuel 7:10-15 and Zechariah 1:16.

In the last days, the Muslims will come to Jerusalem and to try and setup a kingdom, but they will be destroyed and the Lord's Kingdom will rule and reign from Jerusalem.

Syndicated columnist and political commentator Charles Krauthammer appearing on a Fox News program said a possible Israeli strike on Iran's nuclear facilities is inevitable, adding that the US Secretary of Defense has stated that an Israeli preemptive strike on Iran is likely to occur in the coming months.

Krauthammer said Panetta's statement means the Israeli's think that the moment, the time frame in which Israel can no longer attack Iran successfully is fast approaching. Krauthammer says Israel must attack because they can not live under the threat of annihilation. Israel was founded to prevent a second Holocaust, not to invite another one.

A preemptive strike on Iran's nuclear facilities by the IDF would only delay a second Holocaust, not completely stop one, that is according to Bible prophecy.

America's syndicated columnist and political pundit Charles Krauthammer says that Israel was established to prevent another Holocaust like the one that took place during WWII, not to invite another one. Krauthammer states the obvious when he also said that the Jewish people in Israel cannot live under the constant threat of annihilation as has been the case over the last several years. The leadership of Iran, both President Ahmadinejad and the leader of the Supreme Council, Ayatollah Ali Khomeini continue to spout radical rhetoric calling for Israel to be wiped off the earth and her name be forgotten forever.

The Iranians deny that the first Holocaust happened and are calling for a second one in order to annihilate the Jews and eliminate the state of Israel. Bible prophecy does foretell that Iran will be a major player in the alignment of nations who endeavor to try to destroy Israel, Ezekiel 38:5. Israel will try and defend themselves from such a Holocaust, but will only delay it as the Lord intervenes to stop Iran and the alignment of nations, Ezekiel 38:18-39:6. However, before the Time of Jacob's Trouble is come to an end, two out of every three Jews will be killed, Zechariah 13:8.

This time will be the worst Holocaust ever in history.

Two websites in Iran are calling for Moslems to kill Jews and annihilate Israel and that they will do this in less than nine minutes, a plan that has legal and religious justification for the attack on the Jewish state which also includes Jewish people worldwide.

In fact, Iran already has a strategy in place for an offensive attack that would target key Israeli sites using land-to-land missiles or their nuclear weapon of mass destruction mounted as a warhead on their long range Shahab 3 missile that can hit any target in Israel.

A call by the supreme Islamic leader of Iran for Moslems to rise up and kill Jews and annihilate the Jewish state of Israel and be able to do that, as they say, in nine minutes is a page right out of Bible prophecy for the last days.

Several years ago, Iranian President Ahmadinejad called for Israel to be wiped off the face of the earth and he has continued this radical rhetoric up until today. It is amazing to me as I watch world leaders not doing anything serious to stop this call for the planned destruction of an entire nation, the Jewish people. I mentioned that this scenario actually is a page out of Bible prophecy for the end of times. The ancient Jewish prophet Ezekiel wrote 2500 years ago that Iran, mentioned as Persia in Ezekiel 38:5, would rise up to try to slaughter the Jewish people in the last days.

In the fulfillment of Bible prophecy, Ezekiel 34 and 37, the Jews have returned to the land of their forefathers and now consider the Iranians as the number one threat to their existence. Daniel 11, Ezekiel 38, and Psalm 83 all mention an alignment of nations that will join Iran in an effort to wipe Israel off the face of the earth. In fact, Psalm 83:4 says this coalition of nations will rise up to cut Israel off from being a nation in this world and work so that the name of the Jewish state, Israel will be forgotten forever. Ezekiel 38:18-39:6 reveals that the Lord will intercede from Heaven and actually destroy Iran and all the nations in their coalition.

Politically, Iran wants to wipe Israel off the earth. Prophetically, Iran will be the nation destroyed by the Lord.

One of the world's largest oil companies may bring down the very unstable war torn national government of Iraq

Exxon Mobil, one of the world's largest oil companies, has challenged Iraq's Prime Minister Maliki as the political leader of war torn Iraq, works to stop the growing regional separatism of his nation as it relates to the central government's control over territory and the oil rights of the different regions of Iraq.  Iraqi Kurdistan, the oil rich region of Iraq, has signed an agreement with Exxon Mobil for billions of barrels of oil which could jeopardize Maliki's central government's authority and bring down the fragile power sharing coalition in Baghdad.

The stability of Iraq's coalition government made up of Sunni Muslims, Shiites, and the Kurds is at risk of breaking up over the control of Iraq's greatest natural resource, oil.

The battle over the oil rights of war torn Iraq is setting the stage for a scenario that can be found in Bible prophecy for the last days.

It has been known for a long time that the rebuilding of war torn Iraq would be paid for by the agreements for the oil rights to the massive oil fields in Iraq. Petroleum experts say that today's greatest source of oil can be found under the ground of this battlefield in the Middle East. Iraq's Prime Minister Maliki is doing a balancing act as he tries to stabilize his national coalition government but at the same time, reap the benefits for the sale of the oil rights across all of Iraq. Some say that Prime Minister Maliki is not up to the task of rebuilding his nation and making Iraq an economic powerhouse in this oil rich region of the world.

The prophetic scenario found in Bible prophecy foretells of an appearance of a strong man who will bring Iraq to the economic center of the world. John, the writer of the book of Revelation, reveals the appearance of the Antichrist, that strong man, who will in fact head up the economic power base in Babylon which is modern-day Iraq (Revelation 13 and 18). Jeremiah and Isaiah see the rise of Babylon, today's Iraq, as the precursor to the return of Jesus Christ (Isaiah 13,14 and Jeremiah 50, 51.). Revelation 16:17-21 predicts the total destruction of Iraq which is Biblical Babylon, this oil rich nation that will come to power in the last days.

The highest ranking Muslim cleric in Egypt and perhaps the entire Sunni Arab world has set in motion a plan to remove all Jews from the city of Jerusalem. Underneath the banner of a campaign to stop the Judaization of Jerusalem, Ahmed a- Taib has called on all Muslims everywhere to join his efforts to remove Jews from Jerusalem and to use every source at their disposal to achieve their goal. A meeting between A- Taib and the leaders of the Islamic terror group Hamas brought a strategy together for achieving their goal of a Jew free Jerusalem. This report is tangible evidence of how the prophetic scenario found in Bible prophecy is quickly approaching the fulfillment on each of the prophecies related to the city of Jerusalem.

Zechariah 12:2 says that in the last days Jerusalem will be the center of controversy. The Davidic Covenant found in II Samuel 7 reveals that the Lord will place the Jews in Jerusalem forever and there He will protect them from all of their enemies. Jesus Christ said that He would return to Jerusalem (Zechariah 14:4) and there build a temple where He will rule and reign forever (Zechariah 6:12-13). Jerusalem is the place where the Lord said that He would dwell among His people, the Jewish people, forever (Psalm 132:13-14).

No Muslim cleric or anyone else for that matter can stop Bible prophecy from being fulfilled.

The Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas says the man responsible for killing more Jews than any other Arab in recent history is his hero

The leader of the PA, a leader among the Palestinian people today, Mahmoud Abbas says that the murderer of the Jewish people, the infamous Haj Amman El Husein who was the collaborator with Hitler and the Nazis, the Mufti of Jerusalem back in the 1940s, is his hero.

Haj Amman El Husein met with Hitler and agreed that Hitler would murder the Jews in Europe and the mufti would organize the mass murder of Jews in the Middle East.

Haj Amman El Husein who had the title of the Mufti of Jerusalem was the uncle of Yasser Arafat who kept alive his uncle's desire to kill all the Jews in the Middle East, a legacy that has now been passed down to the leaders of the Palestinian people of today.

The Palestinian leadership today looks back to the Mufti of Jerusalem, a mass murderer of Jews, as the Palestinian leader to emulate today which is actually a page out of Bible prophecy.

In the 1930's and the 1940's an Arab leader rose to power and was responsible for the murder of thousands of Jews living in the land of Israel and in fact throughout the entire Middle East. That man, the Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amman El Husein was the strongest Arab leader in those days and he joined with Adolf Hitler and the Nazis to plan the final solution for the Jews in Europe and the Middle East. Haj Amman El Husein was the uncle of Yasser Arafat and was responsible for training his nephew to hate the Jews and then to kill as many of the Jews as he could. Now, the second man for Arafat for those many years is Mahmoud Abbas, he is the leader of the Palestinian government and he says the Mufti of Jerusalem his hero, a man that every Palestinian should emulate.

The ancient Jewish prophets prewrote history on this subject and this threat to the Jewish people. Ezekiel 35:5 reveals that the Palestinians will rise up and kill the Jews today. These murderous efforts to eliminate the Jews from the Middle East is foretold in Zechariah 13:8 where it says that two out of every three Jews will be killed during the time of Jacob's Trouble, Jeremiah 37 and that happens during the terrible time of the Tribulation Period.

Only the coming of the Messiah, Jesus Christ will stop the Palestinians from killing all of the Jews in the Middle East, Obadiah 18.

Iran says they are ready to go to war with Israel

Iranian President Ahmadinejad, the Iranian military chief, and even the leadership of the Supreme Council of Iran, the Ayatollahs, the Islamic leaders, say that they are prepared for an attack from Israel, the United States, or any other nation that may decide to move against the Islamic Republic. The Iranian threat to the Middle East, Europe, and even to the United States, is the development of a nuclear weapon of mass destruction in Iran that could be used to destroy the Jewish state as has been called for by the Iranian president. 

Israel recognizes Iran as their number one threat and have put in place a strategic plan to make certain that Iran does not have a nuclear weapon of mass destruction that could be fired on the Jewish state and that plan may well be a preemptive strike against Iran.

The saber rattling by Iran against Israel and the fact that there is evidence Israel is preparing for a preemptive strike against Iran is a precursor to the prophetic scenario that can be found in Bible prophecy for the last days. 

There has been much discussion among Israeli officials in recent days that seems to indicate the Israeli government may well be ready to order a preemptive strike against Iran in order to dismantle Iran's development of a nuclear weapon of mass destruction. Iran has responded to these discussions with a declaration of readiness to go to war with Israel. The Israeli government says they will not allow the Iranians to launch a long range missile with a nuclear warhead towards the Jewish state of Israel. Almost every Israeli leader believes that Iran is indeed Israel's number one threat and that they must be dealt with. 

What is so interesting to me as a student of Bible prophecy is that this scenario was foretold 2500 years ago by the ancient Jewish prophet Ezekiel. Ezekiel 38:5 mentions the nation Persia as one of the nations that will align themselves against the Jewish state. Until 1936 the nation of Iran was called Persia - today it's Iran. In the Scriptures we find out that the Lord will intercede in the affairs of man and destroy Iran and the other nations aligned against the Jewish state when they make their attack against Israel (Ezekiel 38:18 - 39:6). 

Israel is as expected preparing to take care of their number one threat Iran. However, the Lord will be the one to defend the Jewish state that is according to Bible prophecy - Bible prophecy that will be fulfilled.

A conversation using the Hebrew language in 1891 set the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled

In a Paris cafe in 1881, a group met to have a conversation, a conversation using the Hebrew language and it may have been the first modern conversation in Hebrew in some 2000 years.

Eliezer Ben Yehuda was one of the group speaking in Hebrew and Ben Yehuda would use this conversation to launch an effort to revive the Hebrew language as a spoken language a language that would become the mother tongue of the Israeli people today.

Ben Yehuda would during his lifetime establish an institution which would create new Hebrew words for today's society and give the Jewish people the language of their forefathers that is a spoken language once again in our world.

The revival of the Hebrew language, the mother tongue of Israelis today, is evidence that Bible prophecy is being fulfilled.

Eliezer Ben Yehuda, a European Jew in the late 1800's who immigrated to Israel to raise his family would become the man credited with reviving the ancient Hebrew language. For almost 2000 years, Hebrew was not a spoken language with the exception of a few phrases used in religious activities. Ben Yehuda, starting with a conversation with friends in Paris, France developed a modern day usage of the language of the Jewish people for the first 2000 years of their existence.

Modern day Hebrew is made up of Biblical Hebrew which is 80% of modern day Hebrew and 20% of new Hebrew words that have been created over the last 130 years. Ben Yehuda put together the first Hebrew dictionary for modern Hebrew and developed the way to teach the language which is called "Ulpan". This account of how Hebrew was revived for usage today is an evidence of how Bible prophecy is being fulfilled today.

Jeremiah, an ancient Jewish prophet wrote 2500 years ago that when the Jews would return to the land of their forefathers, Jeremiah 31:8-17, the Lord would give them back the language of their forefathers, the language they would use to bless the Lord, Jeremiah 31:23. Another Jewish prophet, Zephaniah, also predicted that the pure language of Hebrew would be revived in the last days, Zephaniah 3:9.

Israelis speaking Hebrew today proves that Bible prophecy will be fulfilled.

The Iranian government sponsored what they called an intifada conference in Tehran, a conference attended by all of the enemies of the Jewish state of Israel, groups who opposed the very existence of Israel including: Hamas, Hezbollah, the Muslim Brotherhood, Al Qaeda, and many other Islamic terror organizations.

Speaking at the conference, the Iranian president accused the Western nations, including the US and the member states of the EU of creating the Jewish state so that it could exert control over the Middle East and he called the establishment of Israel the worst historical crime ever.

The statement by the Iranian President Ahmadinejad that the Jewish state of Israel was created by the nations of the West contradicts not only historical fact, but prophetic truth as well, that is according to Bible prophecy.

At a gathering of the enemies of the Jewish state of Israel held in Tehran, Iran the Intifada Conference, Iran's President Ahmadinejad continued his radical rhetoric against Israel by accusing the western nations like the US and the member states of the EU of creating Israel so they could control the Middle East. Ahmadinejad's statements referring to the creation of the Jewish state contradict history and God's plan for Israel as foretold in Bible prophecy.

The book of Genesis records the creation of the Jewish state through the patriarchs: Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, Genesis 15, 26:2-3, and 35:12. The Jewish people as a nation have a 4000 year old history and an eternal existence as a nation, Isaiah 66:22. If Ahmadinejad was speaking of the modern day state of Israel, he is wrong again. The present Jewish state is a result of the fulfillment of God's prophetic promises being fulfilled. The ancient Jewish prophet Ezekiel wrote 2500 years ago that the Lord would regather His scattered people and restore them as a nation, Ezekiel 37:7-11. In fact, Ezekiel wrote that the Lord would make the modern day state of Israel greater than the one of their forefathers, Ezekiel 36:10-11.

Ahmadinejad's words are incorrect. The prophetic Word of God is absolute. Bible prophecy is and will be fulfilled.

There has been new life discovered in the Dead Sea

It almost seems like a contradiction of terms to read the headline for this story that life, in fact, new life has been discovered in the Dead Sea by a team of Israeli and German scientists and this report comes at a time when the Dead Sea is dangerously low due to evaporation of the salty Dead Sea water.

Deep beneath the sea bed of a body of water long believed incapable of sustaining life, Israeli scientists have found deep fresh water springs and German scientists have discovered microorganisms growing on the sea floor.

While researchers have known for decades that the Dead Sea is a misnomer, the rich variety of life evidenced in the underwater springs and the microorganisms at the bottom of the Dead Sea may lead to new life for this body of water.

Freshwater springs at the bottom of the Dead Sea and newly discovered microorganisms in this body of water set the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.

For a number of years, I have been reporting on the death of the Dead Sea as this famous body of water has been going down in level almost 3 feet per year. There have been major discoveries that may also be used to save the Dead Sea from death. These underwater springs and even the microorganisms discovered by the marine scientists could well be a lifeline needed for this project.

What is so interesting to a student of Bible prophecy is that two ancient Jewish prophets foretold of freshwater flowing into the Dead Sea and making this body of water, which is ten times saltier than any ocean on earth, a freshwater lake.

Zechariah wrote of what happens after Jesus Christ returns to the earth, how living waters flow from Jerusalem to the former sea in the text which is the Dead Sea, Zechariah 14:8. Ezekiel, in the 47th chapter of his prophecy, wrote of water flowing from the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, actually from the Temple itself, down the Kidron Valley, all the way to the Dead Sea, Ezekiel 47:1-8. Verse 8 reveals that the saltwater in the Dead Sea will be healed and the fishermen will dry their fishing nets at En Gedi.

The Dead Sea will indeed be healed.

Less than ten percent of all born again Christians have a Biblical world view

George Barna, a pollster with an independent marketing research company, found in a recent survey that only 4% of the overall population of America and 9% of born-again Christians have a biblical world view, suggesting that many of the nation's moral and spiritual challenges are directly attributable to this fact.

For the purposes of the research, a biblical world view was defined as believing that absolute moral truth exists, that such truth is defined by the Bible, and that the Bible is accurate in all of its teachings.

A biblical world view based upon understanding Bible prophecy is essential for an understanding of the times we live in today.

Let's look at the provision in scripture for a biblical world view. All scripture is God breathed. That means it's inspired and is profitable for doctrine, for correction, and instruction in righteousness, that's II Timothy 3:16. God gave the scriptures to the Jew to preserve and communicate to mankind, Romans 3:1-2. And thus, we have His written Word for us today. Our blessings and understanding comes from God's provision of His heart, His mind, His thoughts in written form, the Bible.

Now, let's look at the priority for studying a biblical world view. The Apostle Paul wrote that we must study the Word of God, a workman that need not be ashamed, relying on God's Word for all of life's questions. We must rightly divide the Word of truth, the Bible, to ascertain its true meaning. These two principles, study and rightly dividing the Word of God, are instruction for the End Times and they come from Paul's exhortation to young Timothy found in II Timothy 2:15.

Finally, let's look at the prophetic scenario of a biblical world view. A study of Bible prophecy reveals the scenario for the Last Days with a seven year period of judgment in our world followed by the return of the Messiah, Jesus Christ, to establish His Kingdom here on earth. However, preceding that seven years of judgment, those who are true born again Christians will be taken out of this world to be with Jesus Christ, that's the Rapture.

Allowing the Bible to form our world view prepares us for these future events and gives us evidence as to how close they may be.
