With four words Jesus Christ brought one hundred billion galaxies into existence

Listen to Today's Program Play

JD: I know that the Lord Jesus Christ who created everything, Galatians 1:16, by Him are all things created said simply four words, "and the stars also". Was that not amazing? That was in a 24 hour day on that fourth day of creation when He spoke the stars into existence.

DD: Yes Jimmy, the stars also is a majestic statement. After all that is the vast majority of the physical creation, the Heavens above us.

JD: Talk to me about how many stars He did create and then how many galaxies there are out there.

DD: Well certainly the number of stars is beyond what we can number, but what we have been able to photograph and then with statistics come up with some numbers. We know that we live in a galaxy called the Milky Way. These are world pools of stars. They're like islands that God has spread across the universe. Our Milky Way holds on the order of one hundred billion stars, that would be 100,000,000,000. Then in addition to that the very same number for galaxies that we've seen is one hundred billion also. So then when you add up the grand total of all the observed stars in all the galaxies we end up with the number one followed by twenty-two zeros. A number beyond of course what we can comprehend.

JD: And for sure I cannot tell you what that number is but it is awesome as you think about it and what God has done. Jesus said it in four words, "and the stars also". Wow.

DD: Yes, the work of His fingers. He just spread them across the sky.

JD: Don DeYoung explaining this incredible fact that Jesus with only four words created all the stars and the galaxies in our universe.

We report this information because it is setting the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.

As I listened to Don DeYoung realizing that he is a scientist and an astronomer my mind was almost incapable of assimilating the facts that he was giving me. Now I realize what the Psalmist meant in Psalm 19 where he says the heavens declare the glory of the Lord. That is the glory that brought the worlds into existence. Jesus Christ, Galatians 1:16, was the one who created the heavens and the earth and all that is in them. Revelation 1:8 states that Jesus is not only the beginning, the creator, but the end as well. He not only created everything He can reveal how the future an eternity will unfold.
