During her tour of the Middle East region, the US Secretary of State warned that Iran poses the biggest threat to US-Middle East interest and that the US was making sure its allies in the region were well protected after Iran accused the US of trying to spread fear and mistrust.
The Secretary of State met with the Arab League Secretary General Amir Moussa and discussed the situation in Iraq and Lebanon and the prospects for a two-state solution for Israel and the Palestinians. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates traveling with Secretary Rice were focused on uniting US allies against Iran, Syria, and Hezbollah and to win support for a Middle East peace conference planned for later this year.

A cross-section of Jewish settlers in Israel formed a new organization to defend their homes, families, and land
Saying that, "No one is excited about starting a new movement", a cross-section of Jewish settlers met for the founding session of a new group named, Defenders of the Land - a meeting which was held at the Jewish settlement in Judea called, Beit El - a very historic site in the biblical history of the Jewish people.
Israeli Defense Force officers, political leaders including members of the Knesset, university officials, media people, and members of the Jewish settlers Youth Movement met together at a time that they believe is a time to meet a critical need for the very existence of the Jewish settlers for their homes, their families, and the land that God has given to them. Secretary of State Condolezza Rice has called for Israelis to give up the West Bank
Speaking on Arabic language radio in the Middle East, Secretary of State Rice made it very clear that the US believes Israel's future will rest in places like the Galilee area and the Negev Desert and that the occupation of the West Bank will have to end and a Palestinian state will need to be established.
By stating so clearly that the occupation of the West Bank will have to end, Secretary Rice has set a new standard in US-Israeli relations, a position that would include giving up the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.

Hundreds of new immigrants from France have arrived in Israel
Two planeloads of new immigrants from France landed at Ben-Gurion Airport and were greeted by Israeli dignitaries including Israeli President Shimon Peres as well as hundreds of French Jewish immigrants who have already made their home in Israel.
These flights which mark the largest immigration operation this year and the largest from France in several decades were a part of thousands of additional French immigrants who are expected to arrive in Israel before the end of the year. These new immigrants as a part of a special program will spend their first year in Israel assimilating into the Israeli culture by living in groups made up of others who were on their flights and will be involved in a special Hebrew study program that will help these new immigrants become a part of the body politic of Israel.

The study of Christianity has been introduced into Israel's public school system
High school students in Israel's public school system are now able to take matriculation exams in Christianity, a program currently open for Arab students only, but the Israeli Education Ministry says that in the future, Jewish students may also be allowed to take the courses in Christianity.
The studies formulated for 10th, 11th, and 12th grade Israeli students include a biography of Jesus, and chapters dedicated to the churches structure, rules of conduct while inside a church, and prayers. The new matriculation program was designed as part of the compulsory religious studies in schools, and the Christianity studies program was introduced into the curriculum this year.

Jews from around the world gathered in Jerusalem for Tisha B'Av
Today on the Jewish calendar is Tisha B'Av, the ninth day of the Jewish month of Av, the day in 586 BC when Nebuchadnezzar and his mighty Babylonian army entered the city of Jerusalem and destroyed the temple that King Solomon had built.
This same day on the Jewish calendar but over 650 years later on the ninth day of the Jewish month of Av, Tisha B'Av in 70AD, General Titus and the Roman army entered the city of Jerusalem and destroyed what was called Herod's temple, the second Jewish temple. The Jewish people surrounded the Temple Mount to mourn the destruction of these two previous temples by reading the book of Lamentations in the Old Testament and praying for the temple to be rebuilt in the near future.

Father Gabriele Amorth President of the International Association of Exorcists and Pope Benedict's caster out of demons claims that Germany's Adolph Hitler and Russian leader Jo Stalin were possessed by the Devil and he added that he was convinced that the Nazis were all possessed.

Hamas is calling for children to become suicide bombers
Hamas has found a new way to continue feeding Palestinian children a steady diet of hate against Israel and at the same time encourage children to become martyrs, as suicide bombers, giving their young lives for the glory of Allah, the Islamic deity.
Until recently, Hamas television had aired a Mickey Mouse look-alike character who was killed off in the face of international outrage, killed off by the way by an actor posing as an Israeli official and now has been replaced by a cute little bumblebee character whose goal in life is to become a martyr.

Syrian President Bashur Assad is ready to talk peace in his second presidential term
Syrian President Bashur Assad, who has begun his second seven-year term, said during an address he delivered before the Syrian parliament that his country is ready to talk peace but not via secretive channels.
He called upon Israeli officials to publicly announce its intentions if indeed the Jewish state desired to make peace with Syria. Assad stressed that any peace negotiations would be based on Israel returning to pre-1967 borders and that such conditions must be made clear by any serious peace envoys.

The sons of Aaron, the priestly tribe of the Jewish people meet in Jerusalem for an international conference.
Recently in a four day international conference the descendants of the Biblical figure Aaron, the priestly tribe and the whole tribe of Levi of the twelve tribes of Israel, convened in Jerusalem to learn more about their roots and discuss the latest research proving their genetic ties to the priest who operated the functions of the temple in biblical times.
Members of the Kohanim, the priestly family, and other members of the tribe of Levi were invited to participate in what was billed as the "first family reunion" held since the days that the temple stood in Jerusalem almost two thousand years ago.

Over the last twenty years there has been a flurry of activities by religious Jews to prepare for the building of a Jewish temple in the city of Jerusalem. The implements used in the temple for the worship and sacrificial activities have been replicated according to Jewish law. The location of the Ark of the Covenant is known and a red heifer has been secured for its use in the temple operation as well.
Now with the priestly family convening in Jerusalem to receive instructions, there is an expectancy by many Jews for the building of the next Jewish temple. The Bible does describe a temple that will be built by the Messiah, referred to as the "Branch" another name for Jesus Christ, who will come to earth and build that temple, that is Zechariah 6:12. That temple, Messiah's temple, is described in detail in 202 verses found in Ezekiel 40-46.
However, there is a temple that will be built in Jerusalem before Messiah's temple, that is according to Daniel 9:27, Matthew 24:15, II Thessalonians 2:4 and Revelation 11:2. That temple will be the one in Jerusalem during the tribulation period before Jesus Christ comes back to build His temple.

The Islamic Trust, custodians of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, is digging large ditches on the Temple Mount dangerously close to the site of the first and second Jewish temples without archaeological supervision to protect antiquities at Judaism's holiest site.
The project, which involves heavy machinery, has exposed ancient archaeological remains during the dig in the northern section of the Temple Mount, a method of digging that no reasonable archaeologist would conduct in such a sensitive location.

This old Testament passage used by the archaeologist is the account of King Nebuchadnezzar's siege of the city of Jerusalem and the destruction of the temple in 586 BC.

Pope Benedict says only the Roman Catholic Church was established by Jesus Christ
In a document issued by the Vatican's congregation for the doctrine of the faith, it contained Pope Benedict's assertion that the Roman Catholic Church is the one church that Jesus Christ established on earth.
The Pope's statement also said that other Christian denominations cannot be called "churches" in the proper sense of the word, a comment that has prompted condemnation and confusion from Protestants and the Orthodox. The pronouncement from the Vatican said that Pope Benedict was trying to clarify teachings from the second Vatican council of 1962-1965 which the current Pope attended and has been very concerned over its liberal interpretations.

What is interesting is that the Pope's assertion parallels the prophecy found in the book of Revelation about a one-world church in the future.
John the Apostle, who wrote Revelation, wrote in Revelation 17 of a one-world church coming to power in the first half of the Tribulation Period and being led by the Antichrist. That church described in Revelation 17 will be headquartered in Rome, Italy and will be the only church of that time in history. John, in Revelation 17, describes in detail that coming false church during the Tribulation Period. Hear me please now, I did not say that the Catholic Church is that false church of Revelation 17.

Ten EU Foreign Ministers called for an international force in the PA
Ten EU FMs told Tony Blair, the Quartet's new Middle East envoy, that the status quo that has prevailed since 2000 was leading nowhere in a resolution for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and they are calling for an international conference on the conflict.
The Quartet's peace initiative, the road map peace plan which was adopted in September 2002, calls for a three stage process leading to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. A spokesperson for the Israeli Foreign Ministry says that Israel remains committed to the road map peace plan, but that the Palestinian leadership had rejected peace and implementation of the measures called for in the peace plan.

Petra in Southern Jordan has been chosen as one of the Seven Wonders of the World
Jordanian's celebrated the selection of the unique city of Petra as one of the seven wonders of the world with fireworks in Amman, the capital city and dancing into the early morning hours in the ancient city of the Edomites and the Nabataeans.
Petra came in second behind the Great Wall of China in a massive global on-line poll and telephone campaign in which more than one hundred million people chose the top seven wonders of the world.
Jordanian's believe that this will really put Petra on the map of choice tourist destinations, a location that most recently was popularized by the movie, "Indiana Jones, And the Last Crusade".

The notoriety recently received by the unique rose red city of Petra in southern Jordan will enhance the awareness of this location that will play a key role in end time's Bible prophecy.
One Jordanian said that Petra was known by some people in the past but now it will be known by all who know the seven wonders of the world. Recently chosen as one of the elite locations in our world, Petra has a long history dating back some four thousand years ago to the times of Esau and his family who traveled from Israel to Petra to set up its nation. A nation of the Edomites.
The famous stone carvers, the Nabataeans from Arabia, carved out of this sand stone rose red city, a wonderfully beautiful city, that is known as a location with only one entrance and exit. That just over a mile long "ciq" which is an Arabic word meaning high, narrow gorge.
This impregnable city will serve as the place prepared by God, talked about in Revelation 12:6, that will protect the Jewish people or at least one-third of them during the coming time of terrible judgment in the seven year long Tribulation Period.
Isaiah 63:1-6 reveals that Petra is that location where Jesus will go and gather those protected Jews and take them to Jerusalem with Him. Petra is that place prepared by God and now as one of the seven wonders of the world it is indeed prepared to play its role in Bible prophecy that will be fulfilled.

The world must understand Palestinian history before they can understand the present Israeli-Palestinian conflict
Professor Rashid Khalidi, a historian, says that the failure by the Palestinians to write down their own history has made it more difficult to advance their claim for a Palestinian state and he believes Palestinian history must be properly understood if the world is to comprehend the present Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The professor said that the prospect of the independent state that the Palestinians never had, a state that many expected to emerge from the Palestinian Authority, seems as distant as ever especially as rival Palestinian factions Hamas and Fatah are unable to agree on the fundamental basis for a new coalition government.

That history of Esau who became Edom and thus the people known as the Edomites is recorded in the book of Genesis starting in Genesis 35 and can be traced throughout all of the historic books of the Bible. That history reveals a future for the Edomites who are today the Palestinian people; that future reflects the reality of the present-day Israeli-Palestinian conflict which will only intensify as we enter the End Times. Ezekiel 35, Malachi 1, Jeremiah 49, and the little prophetic book of Obadiah all tell of the efforts by the Edomites, the Palestinian people of today, to kill off the Jews and take the land that God has given to the Jewish people.

Al Qaeda's #2 says that the end of the West is imminent
In a newly released video tape message similar to a "fireside chat," al Qaeda's second in command issued advise and directives for the Muslim world which said that the defeat of the West is imminent stating that the enemy is trying to forestall the inevitable.
Al Zawahiri, the number two in al Qaeda, on the video advises Muslims in Iraq and the Palestinian territory and renews a call for young men to join the jihad, reminding Muslims that jihad is their responsibility.

Al Qaeda, with it's tentacles that reach around the world, has been responsible for death and destruction in numerous places as it works to destroy the philosophy of the Western world. Al Qaeda's number two, al Zawahiri, used his video to alert the terrorists of the world that the West will soon be defeated. In fact, he called for young Muslim men to join the Muslim battle against the West and to join holy war, jihad that will bring about that victory. Al Zawahiri told the Muslims that the goal is to implement the rule of the Islamic god, Allah across the world.
Though the word Islam is not used in the Bible, the nations of our world that are Muslim are listed in the prophetic passages. Daniel 11, Ezekiel 38 and Psalm 83 all reveal that these Islamic nations will form an alignment in the Last Days to come against Israel. Ezekiel 38 and 39, verses 2-6 tell us that the Islamic world will be almost completely wiped out. Five out of every six Muslims will be destroyed when they come against Israel and that happens soon after the Rapture of the Church. However, until the Rapture, Islam will be the major force in our world.

America's place In Bible prophecy can be answered
Independence Day celebrations mark the birth of the United States of America, an experiment that has been very successful in many different ways. Many Christians say that the reason for America's prosperity is due to their support for world evangelism. The United States has been the launch pad for worldwide missions, spreading the gospel to a needy world.
The other reason given for America's success is that we have protected the Jewish state of Israel for the many years of it's existence, keeping the Jewish people from total elimination by it's enemies. These two reasons, at the least, have played a role in bringing the United States to where it is today; but where is the United States in Bible prophecy?

The question of America's place in Bible prophecy does have an answer.
"Where is America in Bible prophecy?" That is the most asked question in any "Prophecy Question and Answer" time. I am always asked this question when I open up to inquiring people.
Once in a "Prophecy Question and Answer" time someone told me that they knew, so I asked "Where?"
They said, "Jerusalem."
I asked them to explain, and they spelled out the word Jerusalem.
"J - e - r - U - S - A - l - e - m", to which everybody laughed.
As I thought about the answer though, I believe that it is correct, the only place in Bible prophecy that I see the possibility of the mention of the United States or an illusion to the United States is in Zechariah 14:2.
Zechariah revealed that at the time of the end all of the armies of the world would gather at Jerusalem, under the leadership of Satan, Anti-Christ, and the False Prophet - there to confront Jesus Christ on His return to the Mount of Olives from where He departed some 2,000 years ago. If America survives the 7 year Tribulation Period, their army would join the other armies of the world at Jerusalem.
America today is great because the backbone of this nation is made up of true, Bible believing, born-again Christians. When the Christians leave this world at the rapture of the church, which could happen at any moment, the most powerful nation in the world will most likely fall from it's power base.
America's spiritual decline, in the present, will result in a power decline in the future. Bible prophecy will be fulfilled.

An attempt by Hamas to take control of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem has been stopped
According to officials in Jerusalem the Islamic terrorist organization Hamas has invested millions of dollars in Jerusalem charities as well as construction on the Temple Mount in an effort to recruit Israeli Arabs into its ranks and to increase its presence in Jerusalem and on the Temple Mount.
The attempt by Hamas to take control of the Temple Mount as well as spread its ideology, has been stopped by the Israeli Security Agency who said the Hamas takeover was a strategic move to bolster its standing among Palestinians and throughout the Muslim world.

The effort by Hamas, the Islamic fundamentalist terrorist organization, to take control of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem is a page right out of Bible prophecy for the Last Days.
Over the last several years, Muslims have destroyed the Southeastern portion of the Temple Mount by construction of a large mosque just underneath the ground level of the Temple Mount. Over 1,000 dump truck loads of artifacts and archaeological remains have been removed from the Temple Mount and thrown into the Jerusalem city dump. The Mufti of Jerusalem told me personally that there is no proof of any Jew ever having been on the Temple Mount and that the gold roofed Dome of the Rock dates back to the time of Adam and Eve and the Garden of Eden.

Israeli government has an interactive website for new immigrants to learn Hebrew in their homes
The Immigrant Absorption Ministry of the Israeli government recently unveiled an interactive website, http://www.moia.gov.il/english/ivrit/ivrit1.htm, for new immigrants to learn Hebrew at their own pace and in their own homes, an initiative aimed at helping newcomers to improve their language skills.
The Israeli government hopes that the new Hebrew language website which has tabs for English, Russian, French, Spanish and Arabic speakers will be used by Jews around the world who plan to immigrate to Israel. The Israeli Minister of Immigrant Absorption said that it is of the utmost importance to strengthen the language skills of immigrants as a part of enabling them to be a part of the Israeli society.
