New survey reveals less than 10% of all born-again Christians look at the world with a biblical perspective
George Barna, a pollster with an independent marketing research company, found in a recent survey that only 4% of the overall population of America and 9% of born-again Christians have a biblical world view, suggesting that many of the nation's moral and spiritual challenges are directly attributable to this fact.
For the purposes of the research, a biblical world view was defined as believing that absolute moral truth exists, that such truth is defined by the Bible, and that the Bible is accurate in all of its teachings.

A statement signed by 67 national science academies says evidence of the origins of life is being concealed, denied, or confused and the world's top scientists are calling for evidence based teaching of evolution in schools.

Israel and Jordan are working on a joint project to replenish the evaporating Dead Sea
Israel and Jordan are submitting a request to the World Bank for funds to carry out a feasibility study for a canal between the Red Sea and the Dead Sea, a canal that would bring sea water to the Dead Sea to replenish the enormous evaporation from the lowest body of water on the earth.
Israel and Jordan have a common interest in water and water technology, that according to Israel's Minister of National Infrastructure who also said that the Dead Sea's water level has been dropping at an alarming rate each year over the past twenty years. In a meeting between two influence Middle Eastern leaders, President Mubarak of Egypt and King Abdullah of Jordan, the two men called for the stalled Middle East peace talks to be resumed as soon as possible.
Both President Mubarak and King Abdullah expressed support for a EU sponsored plan to fund the Palestinians while side-stepping the Hamas-led Palestinian Authority.

A Muslim official in Jerusalem admits there were two previous Jewish temples on the Temple Mount
In contradiction to most of his colleagues, a former senior official of the Islamic Trust on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, the Islamic custodians on the temple Mount, says he has come to believe that the first and second Jewish temples existed and stood at the current location of the al Aqsa Mosque.
Supposedly, Islamic custodians passed down stories for centuries from generation to generation, indicating that the mosque was built at the site of the former Jewish temples. This former al Aska official says to admit the Jewish temples existed does not forfeit Islamic rights to the Temple Mount. He said that the present mosque completes the divine religion of Islam, the third and last religion.

A world renowned scientist says the human race must find new homes in outer space to survive
Speaking at an international conference at Hong Kong University, the author of the international best seller, "A Brief History of Time", who is also professor of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge, Stephen Hawking said that the survival of the human race depends on its ability to find new homes elsewhere in the universe because there is an increasing risk that a disaster will destroy the earth.
The British astrophysicist told a news conference in Hong Kong that humans could have a permanent base on the Moon in 20 years and a colony on Mars in the next 40 years. Hawking said that new observational results and theoretical advances are coming in rapidly, and that we are getting closer to answering the old question, "Where did we come from?"

Iraq implements massive security plan after Bush's surprise visit
In a six-hour surprise secretive visit to Baghdad, President George W. Bush met with Iraqi PM Maliki, addressed the security issues with the Iraqi PM and the Bush war cabinet via satellite conferencing, and told the US troops they were on a historic mission.

The EU Presidency is calling for a Europe-wide EU Constitution referendum
The head of the outgoing Austrian EU Presidency, chancellor Wolfgang Schussel, believes a pan-European referendum could be the way to revive the stranded EU constitution, a referendum that would take place simultaneously in all the EU states.
The Austrian chancellor said that such a proposal would need to come from the two countries that have already rejected the charter in public polls, that would be France and the Netherlands. EU leaders gathered in Brussels recently to access the political impact of the delay in confirming the EU constitution one year after the two negative votes from France and the Netherlands.

Demonstrators gathered in the streets of Nuremberg, Germany to protest against the Iranian President Ahmadinejad's visit to the World Cup and the protesters included Jews and Iranian exiles who denounced Ahmadinejad for casting doubt on the Holocaust.
The head of the German-Jewish community declared that the Iranian president is a second Hitler and that people who deny the Holocaust are not welcome in Germany.

Jordan's King Abdullah says that his country is not a substitute homeland for Palestinians
Recently, Jordan's King Abdullah and Israeli PM Ehud Olmert met in Oman, Jordan, capital city of this Middle Eastern state, and discussed Olmert's realignment plan which would give the Palestinians a border that would access the Jordanian border, which is of great concern to King Abdullah.
In light of the large Palestinian population in Jordan, over 70% of the total population, King Abdullah is concerned about his balance of power, and the king made clear to PM Olmert that Jordan is not a substitute Palestinian state.

The 39th anniversary of the reuniting of Jerusalem is marked by celebration, conflict, and controversy
On June 7, 1967 during the Six Day War between Israel and its Arab neighbors, the Israeli Defense Forces stormed the Lion Gate to the old city of Jerusalem, entered the Temple Mount and reunited the city of Jerusalem East and West.
Palestinians marked the 39th anniversry of this brilliant military operation by the IDF as the day Israel occupied their lands and say they will not rest until the captured territories are returned to them for their state, including Jerusalem as the capital city of Palestine. The conflict continues as the Palestinians fight to regain control of the land areas they say they lost during the Six Day War and the controversy of the rights to these areas is center focuus in the international efforts to bring an end to this conflict.

June 6, 2006 has the world buzzing about the prophetic significance of 666
Calendar watchers in the sixth year of the millennium observe the sixth day of the sixth month with worry, hope, and some even humor as theology, mathematics, and commercialism converged on the day described by some as the "Devil's Day", 666.
The number 666 found in the Bible, in Revelation 13:18, is somewhat of a mystery to most Bible scholars who do however acknowledge it is somehow related to the coming Antichrist, a major player in the approaching Apocalypse.

Jews around the world celebrate the Feast of Pentecost
The Jewish holiday of Shavuot, the Feast of Pentecost, is one of the three biblical festivals when Jews must make a pilgrimage to Jerusalem and it marks the day God gave Moses the Ten Commandments and in fact, the Torah, the first five books of the Old Testament.
Tens of thousands of Jews gather at the Western Wall in Jerusalem commemorating the biblical command to visit Jerusalem, and in honor of the command to bring the firstfruits of the wheat harvest to the Temple.

As Jewish people around the world celebrate Shavuot, the Feast of Pentecost, they do it on the wrong day, according to the Bible, which has a significant connection to Bible prophecy. Jews in the land of Israel celebrate Shavuot, the Feast of Pentecost, for only one day, while Jews around the world mark the beginning of the Torah with a two-day celebration.
This concern over the right day to celebrate Pentecost draws attention to the fact that sometime in the past, the Jewish people eliminated the observance of one of the Jewish feast days, the Feast of Firstfruits. Leviticus 23 sets the parameters for the Jewish people to observe their seven feast days including Firstfruits to take place on the Sunday after the Passover, which Jews do not obey today. I remind you that Jesus Christ rose from the dead on Sunday after Passover, the day that He was crucified.
Because Jews don't observe Firstfruits, they count the fifty days leading up to Pentecost incorrectly. Prophetically, this is significant because in fulfillment of prophecy Jesus Christ was crucified on Passover, buried on Unleaven Bread, and resurrected on Firstfruits, fulfilling the prophetic aspects of the Jewish feast days. In the future, Jesus Christ will return to earth, not rapture the church, but return to earth on the Feast of Trumpets. He will enter the holy of holies and begin to reign from Jerusalem for 1,000 years on the Feast of Tabernacles

Jesus Christ did not walk on water, but ice
Dr. Doron Nof, a Florida State University Professor of Oceanography, says that rare conditions could have conspired to create hard-to-see ice on the Sea of Galilee in Northern Israel that a person could actually have walked on back when Jesus is said to have walked on the water.
Professor Nof studied a small section of the cold fresh water surface of the Sea of Galilee near the town of a salty spring along the lake's western shore the floating ice on the lake.

A Florida State University Professor's explanation that Jesus actually was walking on a patch of ice in the Sea of Galilee and not performing a supernatural miracle, is evidence that the Return of Jesus Christ to earth is drawing very close. Professor Nof's research was done in the area, some 10,000 sq. ft. on the coast of the Sea of Galilee on the western side of the lake near the town of Tabgha.
The main problem with the professor's research is that he studied the wrong side of the lake and the section of the lake that supposedly Jesus Christ had walked on the water. Tabgha is the traditional site of the Feeding of the 5,000 and the act of walking on the water. However, the biblical account of this supernatural miracle says that it happened on the eastern side of the lake near Bethsaida; and that is found in John 6:1-21. The phrase, "went over the sea", used in the text is a nautical term; that's found in John 6:1, 17. This indicates that these events occurred on the eastern side of the lake, not on the western side.
This report is evidence of the soon Coming of Jesus Christ as related by Peter in II Peter 3 where he said when the time approaches, people will deny miracles performed by Jesus Christ; for example: the Creation, all in six days, and that the world-wide Flood ever took place; this is found in II Peter 3:1-7.
Jesus Christ performed His miracles while here on earth to confirm He was the Son of God in the flesh and His Second Coming, a fulfillment of Bible prophecy, will indeed be another miracle that will happen seemingly very soon.

Scientists say the Arctic was once a tropical paradise
Scientists have found with first of its kind core samples dug up from the deep beneath the Arctic Ocean floor that 55 million years ago, according to their estimates, an area near the North Pole was practically a subtropical paradise.
The scientists say their findings are a glimpse backward into a much warmer than thought polar region heated by runamuck greenhouse gases that came about naturally.

A recent article in Nature Magazine featuring the report of researchers finding that millions of years ago the average temperature in the Arctic near the North Pole was 74 degrees Fahrenheit concludes that this Northern region was somewhat of a subtropical paradise.
Interestingly, these research scientists say they knew of this thermal event but can only suggest that perhaps massive releases of methane from the ocean or lots of volcanic eruptions caused the Arctic to have this greenhouse effect.
According to the biblical account of Creation, this scientific report is only partially true. The Arctic was once a tropical paradise. The Genesis account of Creation says that all the foliage that makes up a tropical region was actually brought into existence on the third day of Creation, that's Genesis 1:9-13. According to the biblical account of the worldwide Flood, that took place 1,500 years after Creation, there was no winter until after the Flood, when seasons first appeared, that's Genesis 8:22. Thus, the first 1,500 years after Creation there was indeed a greenhouse effect over all the earth, including the Arctic near the North Pole; the whole earth was a tropical paradise.
